Museum piece bronze temple lantern dated Bunsei 13 ( Edo Period C. 1830). Inscription on the base reads: Bunsei 13, Year of the tiger, November, Auspicious Day. Gosho - machi ( Gosho village) Shoei-Ji (Shoei Temple). Shoei Temple is a Jodo -shu temple in Nara established in C.1100. It was rebuilt in C.1577. Unusual Ming Dynasty stoneware celadon glazed censer on a reddish clay body, possibly Longquan or an allied kiln, uncommon to see fine translucent craquelure. Good condition- no cracks or damage just some bits of kiln grit adhering to the glaze surface. D: 11.5cm/4.5in and H: 5.5cm/2.1in
19th century wooden netsuke of two frogs frolicking on differently sized peony buds with stems. Wonderfull quality carving (see finely incised petals texture) carved, very beautiful warm patina. Signed GYOKUSEKI on the bottom - there is Gyokuseki listed on p. 428 of NETSUKE & INRO ARTISTS AND HOW TO READ THEIR SIGNATURES by George Lazarnick, but this is much better quality carving than his usual work, probably a different carver with the same name. Length 2 inches.

Chinese Famille Jaune Porcelain round shape Ginger Jar, Ca. 1920, 7 1/2" high, 7" wide- widest middle area, 3 3/4" diameter-top rim, with overglaze Happiness Chinese character inside 4 round circle wrapped around double bats, filled with sprays of pink Peony floral branches. Inside the bottom shows some rough finish stains, not crack, outside bottom is completely sealed and finished surface. Some old frits around inner rim area and some surface scratches on the glazed area.
This is a Mogolian wine cup with coral and turqoise beads.
Good condition, except for one loose coral bead.
