Antique Japanese 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest of drawers) made of Kiri (paulownia) wood, natural front drawers and red lacquer top and sides. The lockplates of every drawer are shaped as large open fans, and the corner hardware of each drawer are fan-shaped as well. The other hardware implements are decorative with pierced motifs.

Large antique Medieval 11th - 12th century A.D. (391 – 597 AH). Islamic Central Asian Ghaznavid dynasty, Bamiyan, splashed glaze sgraffito pottery bowl of deep rounded form with flat rim standing on a short foot. Interior decorated with incised decorations of four lobed petals and vertical lines in beige/white underglaze with green and brown decorative colors in splash design.

This beautiful Olmec bead is made from true jadeite and is 3" long. The jade is opaque. It has the classic Olmec face incised into the side. The hole does not go all the way through, but is drilled at both ends with two holes for suspension. A very rare find.

Antique Chinese snuff bottle made of porcelain and decorated on four sides. Two sides are painted with enamel glaze scenes of white herons and lotus blossoms. The other two sides have large raised cartouches painted with red and green. The lid is made of pale green jade and has a long spoon made of bone.

An unusual early Meiji period medicine 2-tiered Kusuri chest. Made from 100% quarter sawn kiri (Paulownia) wood, and small hand forged iron pull hardware. Original warm red tones with brown undertones finish give the small chest a great sensibility. Total of 13 individual drawers, used to store and keep natural remedies, herbs and tonics.

This very well carved and designed carved bamboo root brush washer is an early-20th century product. It is 1 7/8” high and 5 7/8” wide (measured from the widest part). It depicts old pine trees with a crane resting on one of the limbs. According to Chinese tradition, pine trees and cranes represent longevity. It is in great condition.

These vases of tapering square form are decorated overall in famille rose and noir enamels, each having four cartouches depicting courting scenes, surrounded by geometric and floral designs. This rare carved walrus tusk of a pine tree boat is a late 19th century product. It depicts 13 young female fairies riding on a pine tree covered boat crossing the ocean. They are engaged in playing musical instruments, chess and painting. In Chinese culture, the pine tree represents longevity because it is evergreen and lives for a long time. Showing a rich patina, the carving is elegant, and superb. It is 6 ¼” long, 2” wide and 2 ½” high...

This is a very rare and finely carved jade tubular bead with raised collars. It dates to the Costa Rican Nicoya and Guanacaste period, C50 BC. It is 4 3/4" long and 1/2" thick. It has a beautiful patina. One end has a single break (shown in the pictures). It has been professionally repaired and does not distract.

The lid has a beautiful cloisonne landscape with overhanging cherry blossoms on tree branches, a tower and building with blue roofing, and a red bridge crossing over a running river. Japanese Arita porcelain square sake bottle with Dutch Kakiemon decoration. The bottle is square with a short waisted neck and everted lip. Each side is painted with unique images of birds, flowers and plants. The color scheme is iron-red, turquoise, blue and green with some gold. Minor wear consistent with age. A splendid antique 19th century, Islamic, Indonesian shield of circular convex form and the flat outer rim made of hand-forged copper, applied with finely hand cut brass script in Arabic calligraphy, soldered to the surface of the shield and adorned with brass rosette repousee and pierced in lotus flower heads, four domed brass bosses and four elaborate plaques, the repousee is pierced with arabesque design. The back of the shield is affixed with a wood handle fitted in copper mounts...

An antique Japanese Kadai (display stand for Ikebana and Tea Ceremony) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood. Cut from the root trunk of the tree forming a solid top with few air pockets and a multi-leg base providing natural stability. Beautiful wood grain and natural art form.

Chinese famille rose porcelain tea cups, each with pink and white chrysanthemums with outstretched stems and leaves in pastel greens, a light aubergine band around the rim with small flowers and leaves in curling designs, and a light blue half-star design underneath. Each teacup is stamped underneath with the Hongxian Nian Zhi mark, early 20th century. Size: 2.25" tall, 3" wide

This bronze cast cannon is decorated in low relief of a coiled dragon. The fish like handle stock and representing a carp is in homage to the original purpose of such cannon. These examples where used to shoot flaming signals from ships at sea. Mounted on custom Bronze stand. Pitting finish shows indication of sand casting. Fine detail shows high level craftsmanship.

An antique Japanese gilt wood temple Ranma (transom). Hand carved depicting a pair of Kingfisher with 3 Swallows amongst Lotus blossoms and leaves. One Swallow has caught a small fish while one Kingfisher has caught the leg of a frog. Deep relief with inscription on left and partial inscription on right.

This is a fabulous painting dated 1930 by Shirakura Niho enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Ko-Ten-Bo-Setsu (Twilight Snow in the Bay). Viewing it one can hear the silence, the soft pattering of snow and the flap of wings as geese take flight in the distance. Shirakura Niho was from Niigata prefecture, so was a man who not only knew snow well, but was well known for his snowy landscapes...

Antique Chinese Guan Style Ware Plate. Shallow bowl form with decorative foliate rim. Pale celadon glaze with traditional and highly prized crackle. The foot on the underside has been left unglazed but the inset area of the bottom is treated with the same pale celadon crackle glaze.
