Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Porcelain Covered Jar

This attractive small covered jar was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). It is quite "heavily-potted" for its type and is coated inside and out in a pale Qingbai-type glaze. The glaze falls short of the sturdy foot and the underside of the cover also remains unglazed. A Chinese, black glazed, stem cup; Yuan dynasty. Elegantly potted; rising from it's slightly flared foot, to the U-shaped bowl with an everted rim. The iron-rich black glaze appears brown at the rim and above the foot, where it terminates. Diameter, 9.7cm. Condition; excellent. Interesting seal carved in a fine green stone, Western Mesopotamia, probably 3th. millenium BC.

Antique Chinese porcelain tray with gilt edges, its inside finely decorated with oceanside scenery in light glaze colors that are quite pleasing to the eye. Several small people can be seen kneeling, strolling along the water, and riding in a small boat. Very finely painted with excellent detail. At 24.5", this a most impressive piece of ginbari cloisonne. Over a ground of graduated blue, a flock of white doves flutters through masses of lilies.

Condition: Good for such a large piece of Meiji period ginbari. There is a discolored hairline extending most of the way around the upper rim, small oxidized areas, and other less obvious hairlines. None of these imperfections are overly obvious because of the size of the vase...

19th century staghorn ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved as Zen Buddhism patriarch Daruma enveloped in his monastic robe. Excellent face with expression of extreme concentration, superb warm patina, very pleasing shape. Height 11/16 inches. Wooden stand used for photography is not included.

This pair of late Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) bowls with cover are 2 3/4 inches high (4 inches with cover) and 5 5/8 inches in diameter. Peony, chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers are painted over the entire exterior and the interior rim of both bowls and covers.
