This is kanjin-sumoh gyoji tsutsugaki nobori textile of the Edo era. It is very very rare textile. It has a thin stain. However, it does not stand out. It has slight damage. However, it is good condition generally.The sumoh wrestling was an event called sumoh wrestling sechie to which original was done in the court.

A Very Fine Korean Blue Glazed Butterfly Formed Water Dropper-19th C.:

A well potted butterfly-shaped water dropper, carved and details with realistic butterfly wings
and body, it is underglaze with bright cobalt blue to the surfaces, and the bottom unglazed.
It is in excellent condition without any damages, it measures: 7.3 cm x 2.5 cm.
A very attractive large brownstone stamp seal of the oval gable form, c. 4th. millenium BC.
The seal finely polished and engraved with a stag with long horns.

Korean two-unit stacked chest (ichung nong) with beautiful persimmon wood front panels, and a fruitwood frame. brass hardware, four rectangular top drawers with brass bat-shaped handles, and a set of hinged drawers on each unit with a large brass butterfly lock in the center and brass butterfly hinges. The Korean word for 'bat' is a homophone for the Chinese word for 'good fortune', so bats are considered a good luck charm, and butterflies represent happiness...
Antique Japanese bronze Bishamonten or guardian. Taisho period, 1912-1926. The Bishamonten is the protector of Buddhism, distributor of treasures and wealth and protector of warriors. He is the Shitenno guardian of the north, of riches and scourger of evil doers, and healer of illness. The Shitenno are the four heavenly guardians that protect the Buddha and his attendants. There is a seal on the base reading Nobu. It measures 38" tall.
Antique Japanese iron tsuba or hand guard for a sword, in a mokko or melon shape, decorated with motifs of thin tree branches with plums and blossoms, with silver and Shokudo inlay, and an engraved sun in the top corner. The backside has a small cluster of plums inlaid with silver.

This is a beautiful short sword from ancient Persia (circa 1200 BC). It has a leaf-shaped blade with three raised ribs that meet to form a strong central blood groove. The piece appears strong and stable with no signs of repair or restoration. It measures just over 35 cm in length and weighs 338 grams.
An ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1250 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). The bottom depicts 2 antelope heads. It is 1/2” long (12 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.
A Song dynasty longquan celadon dish, rounded side with deep center and glazed base, decorated with carved fish motif dish coverred with green celadon glaze. Good condition no damage size 14.5 cm diameter.
Rare Ming dynasty longquan celadon large lantern vase, rounded side with barrel shape and unglazed foot ring, celadon vase decorated with carved chrysanthemum flower motif, vertical ribbing on the neck and lower part, flower and cross motif at the belly, covered with nice green tone celadon glaze.
Vase is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta Male Torso. This culture rarely depicted male figures making this quite unique. The culture flourished at the same time as the Olmecs in what is now Mexico city. Wonderful little figure c1200bc - 800 bc . Size 2.25" by 1.25" wide.

Exceptional AMARAPURA Crowned Buddha in Royal attire subduing Mara. Gilded wood with finely coloured glass-mirror inlays which points to the early Konbuang Period (1752-1885). The back of the throne has a special niche (opening) for relics. Condition good with several fissures due to age which adds character to this stunning collector's item. The first of these molds depicts a Makara surrounded by floral swirls. It measures 3-1/4" in both height and width. The second shows an animal face or mask and measures 1-3/4" in both height and width. Rubberized impressions included for both.

Well known for his intense demeanor, Bodhidharma (Daruma) stands with fly wisk in hand, his signature red monk's robes draped around him. Daruma figures represent perseverance and are believed to bring good fortune. This figure is decorated with polychromatic glazes and painted details.

A very rare antique Japanese Funa Tansu (captain's ship chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Kirinoki (Paulownia) woods with a Urushi lacquer finish. This is cotton child Kasuri kimono of Edo period. As for this, a pattern is Hagoita, Hane and Hami of the harness. Hagoita play is play of New Year holidays. As for this, Yokote Kasuriga is used for Edo period of Akita. This has two or three places of stains, but does not stand out. This does not have damage. The state is complete.
