This is a beautiful short sword from ancient Persia (circa 1200 BC). It has a leaf-shaped blade with three raised ribs that meet to form a strong central blood groove. The piece appears strong and stable with no signs of repair or restoration. It measures just over 35 cm in length and weighs 338 grams.

This is an unusual bronze spear or dagger from ancient Persia (circa 1500 BC). The style is similar to many specimens attributed to the Luristan culture. However, this particular piece has an unusually pronounced guard area, faceted tang, and decorated shaft. The decorations are in the form of linear incisions on the cylindrical portion of the shaft. There is also a prominent midrib in the elegant, leaf-shaped blade. This piece measures 31 cm in length and weighs 190 grams.

This is an exciting little repousse plaque or pendant found in the city of Gilgit. The city of Gilgit was an important hub along the silk road. The image and decor of the piece appears to be Gandharan but as I am not an expert on that particular culture I could be mistaken in my attribution. This piece measures roughly 2 cm square. Japanese Edo period round-form bronze kagami (mirror) decorated in high relief with a finely detailed motif of crane and its young among pines. The perforated boss in the center, which holds a tassel, is in the form of a minogame (tortoise). There is an inscription at one side (see enlargement 6). This is a museum quality example of a very rare word type from the ancient middle East.It has a hollow cast, mushroom shaped pommel and a heavy, crescent shaped guard. Rare Chinese form, this Chinese chalice is from the late Qing Dynasty period. The dome shaped lid is topped with a gold finial. The surface of the piece is covered with cloisonne pattern. There is a floral design in black and brown which is offset against a background filled with a fretwork pattern. The chalice with its matching lid stands 9 inches tall.

This Chinese antique wood carving was possibly part of an architectural structure or possibly from a piece of furniture. The wood is approximately 1.3 inches thick and retains much of the original finish though it is obviously worn in some areas. The tradition carvings of 2 dragons chasing the pearl is very well done. This is a thinly potted bowl depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The bowl stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body. At the base of foot-rim, it has the honorific four character seal mark of Qianglong reign. Cir. second half 19th century, possibly from Tongzhi period.
