Here we offer another Japanese tea kettle from our collection. It is a cast iron relief tetsubin from the late Edo Period. It is signed by the unknown artist. It has a tasteful design.
Inside is some rust but no water leak. Great atmosphere. A real antique tetsubin.

Japanese fune bako, or ship safe box, made from keyaki wood with its original lacquer. The top of the box has iron hinges and a warabite handle, which opens for storing calligraphy stones. The front has three drawers, one with a large iron lock.

This is a large fine Japanese cloisonne vase from Gonda. The wireless work is beautiful. The use of the subtle yellow tones behind Mt Fuji are an exquisite touch. We have had several of the small vases like this but never one this large or this quality from Gonda. The vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is mounted with silver rims and the condition is outstanding.

Up for sale is a rare antique Chinese silk rank badge, early 1800's, embroidered with a paradise flycatcher bird, bats, peonies, peaches, seawaves, sun disc, colored cloud patterns, buddhist auspicious symbols against a dark blue silk ground; meant to be wore on the back of a Mandarin official's surcoat; intricate embroideries ! Backed with light blue silk lining.

Beautiful Japanese 19th century gilt copper Keman with lotuses. This keman once hung from beams above the altar of a Japanese Buddhist temple. Traditionally, keman are decorated with floral designs originally derived from the use of flower garlands in temples in India. This keman has rare and very old blue glass beads and is remarkably intact. Translation writes that an honored donor named Demura Kojiro presented to temple in city of Wakayama in January Meiji 23 (c1890)...

Antique seated bronze Buddha in Maravijaya and Virasana, made in the late 16th or early 17th century in Chiang Mai Northern Thailand.
It shows a rare high quality bronze, very heavy, solid and shiny with rests of gilt.
The statue is our property since 1938 and was exhibited in our private home since that time.
Predominantly hollow inside and nevertheless 6,5 kg heavy.

Mask of the "Nuo" esoteric theater representing the character of Master Jiang, a respected professor. Polychrome wood, with animal hair under the nose and around the chin to represent mustache and beard. China, early 19th century. Height: 9 3/8" (24 cm). The reason why this bowl is so rare is the fact, that nearly all bowls of this kind of Medallion bowls are " Doucai " bowls on that the underglaze Cobalt - blue outlines of the decoration are filled with overglaze enamels. Sometimes there are also to find such bowls that do show the underglaze blue outlines only, which are for whatever reason still not filled with overglaze enamels. The decoration of such pieces somehow give an " incomplete impression"...

Best of the best! Distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, coarse unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita glaze inside and outside, with the exception of the bottom' the roughly cut foot ring and window, which is decorated with plover birds (chidori) over waves in black under a shin on type glaze. Next to the roughly cut foot ring is a kiln mark (kama jirushi)...

This is a high quality of and rare incised celadon deep bowl.
There are three incised large chrysanthemum sprays between the well line and
narrow lines below the lip, is covered overall evenly toned greenish blue
celadon glaze, and spur marks on base. It has a short hairline crack on the mouth rim,
otherwise very good condition. It measures 7” d. x 3 1/4” h.
Height approximately 10.5 cm. Length 15.5 cm. Few chips at the cover. In good condition.
