This is a classical form Song dynasty small longquan or celadon dish with moulded appliqué twin fish in the centre and an everted flatten rim. The dish is glazed with an uneven sea green or aquamarine glaze with crazing instead of the standard green colour.

There is no repair or restoration. Minor abrasion on the base and a small stone pits covered with the glaze near the cavetto which does not affect the aesthetic of the dish (picture 2 at 12 o’clock)...

This is Song Dynasty (960 – 1276) yingqing jar with cover. The motif on top of the cover is moulded. The impressions on their faces are very well presented and their robes and hair pieces are nicely carved and colored. Aside from some worn pigment due to age, they are in really great shape.

This late 19th C. or early 20th C. carved hard stone water bowl for painters or scholars is about 2 inches high, 5 ½ inches long and 4 ¾ inches wide. The water bowl is carved as a double plum blossom; a lucky bat, two smaller blossoms and leaf are on the side. The lucky bat and plum blossom represent bravery, strength and longevity in Chinese culture. The workmanship is simple and elegant. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century very well carved nephrite of a sage riding a horse is 9 inches high (with wood base is 10 ½ inches high), 8 ½ inches long and 4 ½ inches thick. It depicts an old sage holding a lantern while riding a horse. Though the nephrite has some natural blemishes, it is quite an eye catching piece. It is in great condition.

This 19th century deeply-carved small boxwood root brush holder (Bi Tong) is 5 ¼ inches high and 2 5/8 inches wide. The carver used the natural shape of the root to create a pine tree and plum blossom. The workmanship is great. The design, carving and polishing are all very well executed. The bottom was filled with softer wood. It is in excellent condition.

This pair of late Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) bowls with cover are 2 3/4 inches high (4 inches with cover) and 5 5/8 inches in diameter. Peony, chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers are painted over the entire exterior and the interior rim of both bowls and covers.
