Chinese Blue and White Tea Jar, Tea Caddy, Ca. 1920, 4 1/2" high, 3 3/4" wide-widest part, 1 3/8" diameter-top rim, 2 1/4" diameter-bottom Rim, with underglaze blue design of a man holding flower under the Willow Tree. stains around the unglazed rim, old hairline about 1/8" long on the unglazed bottom rim.

Chinese hardwood painting table. The whole body, except for the top, is carved in relief with lingzhi fungus. The waist, the apron, and the connecting joints are also decorated. The legs are cabriole with block carved hoof feet.

Small bronze cannon of this type where made for shooting flaming arrows at ships, launching fireworks at festivals, and for signaling purposes. The example of cast bronze with a bore that is described as at the breach and the bore is reduced to a half round section to form a chamber for the powder mount for use. The gun would be imbedded into a wooded block such as the lower half of the barrel and the entire breach end is covered...

DESCRIPTION: An attractive scholar’s brush, the cloisonné handle having colorful vine and floral designs on a black ground. The ferrule and tip are both crafted from turned wood while natural bristles form the full brush. In excellent condition, this is a handsome, well made brush dating from the early 20th C. Antique Japanese silver kanzashi, the upper design part is gold plated with finely engraved three oak leaves. *This was one of the most popular crests among the warrior samurai class particularily among close devotees of Shinto. Top quality hand cut metal work. Circa (we think) Meiji period (1868-1912). 6 3/4" long and 1 3/8" in width.

Antique Japanese small ko tansu (personal chest) made of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top portion has a compartment opened by a pair of sliding doors. Below this is a series of drawers of various sizes: three small on the right and two medium sized drawers on the left. The very bottom of the chest has one full-width drawer. Hardware includes warabite shaped drawer pulls.

One of its sides has a small bird perched upon a branch with outspread wings, with mixed metal inlay including gold, silver, and shakudo. Antique Chinese amber snuff bottle carved all over with a design of blossoming trees and birds. Made of a beautiful dark mottled amber with sections of deep yellow and orange. Agate lid.

A large Chinese gongshi, or scholar rock, highly appreciated as a contemplative viewing piece by literati. The piece is formed by natural elmwood root that has been lacquered, entangling a lingbi stone, originating from the Anhui province of China. Inset within a wooden base.

DESCRIPTION: A handsome scholar's calligraphy brush, crafted from a wood shaft that has been beautifully lacquered in a swirling, wave-like pattern of red and black lacquer. The lacquer shaft is connected to the natural bristle brush by a bulbous wood ferrule. One of the four treasures of the scholar’s studio, this striking scholar’s brush would have made an attractive companion to a fine brush pot. Very good condition; most likely dating from 1900 - 1930...

A pair of antique Japanese candlesticks dating to the Meiji period 1868-1911. The stands are made of copper and measure about 17 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" in diameter, across the weighted bottoms. The stands have been engraved with an assortment of family mons, both on the bases, and up the sticks. The condition is very good. There are no dents or broken pieces, and a dark patina has developed over the years. The asking price includes shipment within the USA.
