A large, very decorative blue and white Imari vase from the 19th. century with a underglaze blue mark to the base. H. : 78 Condition : No damage . There is a fiering crack from the time when this vase was produced ( which can be seen on the last enlargement ) so that it is legitim to say that this piece is in it´s perfect original condition.

This rare Japanese 19th century painted ivory snuff bottle is 3 ¾ inches tall, 2 inches wide and 3 quarters of an inch thick. The base inscribed with a four character Qian Long mark. Both sides depict ladies chatting in a garden. The workmanship is superb and it is in excellent shape except slight retouching on the bottom.

Wonderful pair of Chinese cloisonne elephants, each one sits on it's rear end with trunk high in the air, decorated all over with beautiful cloisonne motifs, these pieces are actually containers! The heads come off to reveal little domed lids, these also come off to reveal containers! Each elephant sits on a stand. Beautiful and charming! Early 20th century. Size of each: 13 3/4" high (12 1/2" high without stand) x 5" wide x 6" deep.

A fine square form dish kakuzara decorated with a scene of a large Pavillion or Temple Complex set upon a lakeside shore with Peony scroll motifs to two corners and a high foot ring with traditional comb foot. The design is one of those originally selected by the Shogun Ieharu (1737-1786) in 1773, and continued to be tendered and reserved for presentation to the Shogun during the Edo period...

A finely moulded Arita dish the upper third painted with a simple landscape containing a flowering Japanese Apricot, ume, symbolic of Winter partially “obscured” by the rim of the dish and Bell flowers, kikyo, Gentian, symbolic of Autumn. The remaining lower portion decorated with a stencilled, katagami, brocade pattern of hexagonal diaper with florets. The edge of the dish has a thickly applied dark iron brown glaze...

A small enamelled copper box, the cover depicting a grasshopper or cricket amongst grasses and flowers. The base carries a "CHINA" stamp which dates it to post 1890. This item was probably made circa 1900, during the latter years of the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). A fine quality early Eighteenth century export saucer dish decorated with a central kikkumon and sprays of Chrysanthemums and Prunus branches in a five colour palette sans aubergine enamel. The reverse decorated with three prunus sprays. The dish has elements of slightly raised moulded decoration in the form of three plum flowers and three chrysanthemum blooms...

Beautiful Chinese cloisonné tripod censor decorated in beautiful colors with motifs of lotus, scrolling vines, chrysanthemums, and archaic chinese elements. A Very Fine Korean Inlaid Rich Greenish Blue Celadon Glazed Cup-12th C.: Korea, Koryo dynasty, 12th century. The rounded sides rising to a slightly incurved rim, the exterior inlaid in sanggam with three chrysanthymum springs below a keyfret border at the rim, set on a slight high foot rim with 3 spur marks. A small Japanese Arita kilns blue and white porcelain sauce dish, or mamezara, of mokko-gata form. Namban (or Nanban, Southern barbarian) decoration of a foreign figure, with dog, falconing in picturesque landscape. Painterly shironuki decoration in the cavetto of cranes flying among clouds. Edo period, Circa 1800. Good condition for its age, with two small chips inside the foot rim and a small glaze abrasion just above the foot rim. About 3 15/16 inches (10 cm) square.

The pattern is split into equal halves, by a zigzagging screen wall on one side, and an S shaped motif with ruyi cloud shaped motifs. The first portion of the design shows a pair of scholar’s playing Go sitting beneath a Bodri Tree set in a landscape with a scholar’s refuge cum tea house and oddly oversized autumn flowers, kikyo, bell flowers, and suisen, Japanese narcissus...
