Description: A black-glazed, narrowed-neck bottle vase was squeezed and applied on shoulder with four small looped handles.
Well applied on the surface with dark glaze which was in greasy feel and was yielded with immensely spread crackles due to age, it was sat on a flat bottom from which the grayish white-tinted body clay was revealed.

Date: Southern Dynasty南朝, 5th-6th century.

Provenance: Deqing kiln德清窯, Zhejiang Province...

This form, with a bridge near the spout for holding back ice cubes, is also known as a “sweetheart pitcher,” because of the vaguely heart-shaped wreath on either side. It is 2.75 inches (7 cm) tall by 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide. It is 784 gram.

This hand carved panel is from a Chinese Buddhist Temple erected around 1860. The panel is deeply carved with a scene which takes place at the foot of the sacred mountain. Bits of Mother of Pearl are inlaid into the mountain and is also used to highlight a few costume details.

This panel was used as an architectural element and has the mortise cuts in the top which were used to hold the panel in place. It is one of a pair of panels which were taken from the temple...

Fine Pair of Tall Chinese Han Dynasty Burnished Pottery Vases

This fine, impressive and very rare pair of pottery vases was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8) or possibly a little earlier. They are of a particularly pleasing and elegant form, the wide bodies rising up from the flat bases, then constricting into long slender necks and finally opening up into fairly wide mouths...

This is an old and well done Japanese Satsuma box. The design has a wonderful contrast between the simplistic over glazed enamel water elements and the refined, highly detailed gold wheels. The inside is covered with a layer of gold. The box is not signed but we think it could have possibly come from the Makuzu Kozan studio because of its quality and uniqueness. Makuzu Kozan did some work in earthenware and came up with many wonderful designs. We also know that they were not all signed...

A good quality Japanese vase and cover decorated with scrolling Octopus-vine patterns almost entirely covering the body of the vase and cover. Probably Arita in origin. The vase dates to the early 19th Century and the late Edo period. The vase stands 26cm high, including the cover, and has a diameter of 15cm. The foot-ring measures 8cm. The vase weighs 1445 grams in total. The condition is good no cracks, chips or restoration to the body. There is a crack to the rim of the cover (see images)...

Antique Japanese 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest of drawers) made of Kiri (paulownia) wood, natural front drawers and red lacquer top and sides. The lockplates of every drawer are shaped as large open fans, and the corner hardware of each drawer are fan-shaped as well. The other hardware implements are decorative with pierced motifs.
