Appears to represent the nude Adonis, his right leg slightly bent on the knee, standing on a raised pedestal, gazing down on an enamoring Aphrodite, with hair pulled back into a bun, her right arm bent at the elbow, and her left hand, grasping her long, flowing drapery. A Mt. Washington scalloped rim bowl decorated with orchids. The 3 3/4 inch diameter, 2 3/4 inch tall satin finish bowl has subtle diagonal ribs and a polished pontil mark. The color shades from pale lavender on the flared rim to colorless at the bottom. The coloration appears similar to the bowl shown in plate 10-17 on page 243 in Wilson’s “Mt Washington & Pairpoint Glass” and the decoration matches that on the sugar shaker in plate 10-18 of the same book.

Entirely hand-modeled terracotta lion resting with crossed forepaws. The elongated body with vividly rendered mane, the tail runs between the legs to rest on the back.
The missing head reveals the buildup of the figure. Excellent modeling.
The collector’s label is covered by a second one referring to Fischer’s 1941 sale and reads B1404-234-pe ist).
The ink inscription is illegible and indicates, as with other pieces of the collector, where the figurine was found...

An antique Japanese Sakata Funa Tansu (ship captain's safe) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Large security door lifts out to reveal two large drawers where ship valuables were stored and kept safe from pirates and thieves. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Mokko style handles and the Pine and Bamboo incised lock plate.
