Small Japanese circular covered box in gold nashiji and maki-e lacquer with the lid having a lovely display of iris flowers in a stream setting created in both low and raised relief lacquer work The sides also feature raised delicate designs that complete this perfect little box. In excellent antique condition, it measures 2-1/2" diameter and 1-7/8" high. Dates Late Edo or Early Meiji and a piece worthy of a collector.

Structure in carved wood with chrysanthemum symbol and an open fan in the circular shape of the rising sun at the back.

Jin or Yuan Dynasty Cizhou type bowl with black and russet glaze, from a northern kiln. Broken and glued back together (obviously). This has a broad indented lip on the rim. D: 6.7cm/6.8in and H: 7.1cm/2.8in.
This fine Ruby Block goblet was made by several manufacturers during the 1880s and beyond. It features hexagonal blocks surrounded by diamond "cuts", but it is pressed glass of course, made in 4 parts, the bowl being fused to the stem.
Known by many names and made by many companies,
