A fine and beautiful gold leaf and enamel vase of Satsuma measuring 10” x 6”

A hard to find purple transferware pitcher with central vignettes of farm life and genre scenes. The top and inside of pitcher have foliate decoration. The single piece handle is attached. Condition is very good with minor crazing and possible exterior crack for which we have shown 2 pictures. Very moderate age discoloration most noticeably on handle.

This ingenious antique Chinese pillow expands and contracts so it can be used as either a double and single pillows. The wooden ends have hand carved floral decoration. The head rest areas are bamboo and the individual rails are wooden. As expected,there are a few nicks to the finish which are consistent with a 100 yrs plus daily use item.

Sterling silver berry spoon in Whiting's 1891 "Louis XV" pattern. This is the smaller-sized berry spoon, and is appropriate for serving a wide range of side dishes or, of course, berries. The back is marked with Whiting's hallmark and the patent date, indicating that this is an older piece.

An exceptionally well done Bohemian souvenir crystal glass goblet of souvenir type depicting various attractions in Bavaria, Austria, and Bohemia. The complex glass was made with 5 parts starting with a faceted scalloped base, a faceted plinth with flashed grape leaves, a ruby spacer, then a short faceted stem with supports a large Grecian urn style bowl with more flashed leaves, and then the showpiece medallions of frosted etched historic sites on ruby flashed ground...

English Spode Blue Transfer deep plate, late 19th century, 9 3/4" diameter, 1 1/2" high, with Italian pattern inside fluted rim and two(2) figures attending cows, imprinted mark "Spode 54" "Spode" in underglaze blue, the condition is good.

A rectangular playing card of the "as nas" game, made of papier-mache and hand-painted in ink, watercolor and gold under lacquered varnish. With clumsy depiction of a lady with two children within an oval frame embellished with foil. Description of the game by the Brooklyn Museum: "The full set of cards for the game of âs nâs, a gambling game similar to poker, contains twenty cards, with four each of five suits...

Small shrine, or zushi, in a folkish style. In a simple, square case sits Buddha Shakyamuni with a round object in his hands, possibly a jewel or an alms bowl, carved in soap stone. Shaka sits on a low pedestal. On the inside of the left door a paper label with the inscription … no shaka sonzo (Figure of the … Buddha). Height case 7 inches; height figure 3 ¼ inches. Majolica wares were all about representing nature, and this gurgle fish pitcher is no exception. These fish pitchers came in a number of variations, most of which dealt with color schemes and minor design differences. This pitcher, we believe, represents the cream of the crop in a number of respects, the first of which is the gorgeou color, the primary one being the rich nearly forest green glaze which scales to mint green. This porcelain chocolate set was produced in Germany by the Carl Thieme Saxonian Porcelain Factory at Potschappel around 1900. The set consists of a chocolate pot, 10 ¾ inches tall, 6 cups, 3 inches high without the handle, and 6 saucers, 4 ½ inches in diameter. A very unique architectural element showing a warrior on a mythical beast. These were used as adornments to beautify the home as well as to tell a story. This well carved piece of Chinese history dates to the late 19th century and is considered in excellent unrestored condition. The painting of various colors adds luster to this hard to find antique. There is damage to the backside, but does not detract from the overall beauty. It measures 10.5" long, 8" high. just under 4" inches deep.

English Transferware Plate, marked "E. Challinor", "Dora" red Transferware Plate, Ca. 1856, 8 1/2" diameter, cows, sheeps and farm house scenery, very pleasant farm animals and houses, and crazing glaze on the surface on the some spots, condition is good.

A group of three Staffordshire plates. The first a small (6 ½ inch diameter) pearlware plate with good handpainted roses and a solid colored border with lines and dots. The second plate (8 3/8 inches diameter) also pearlware handpainted with a border of small roses, leaves and ovals over two lines. The third a ceramic plate with a shaped edge (10 1/8 inches diameter) with a very bold free hand painted single Adam’s rose dominating most of the area. All are unmarked...
