Japanese Late Edo - Early Meiji Period TAKEDA actor doll. The doll has GOFUN (powder made from oyster shells) head and hands, painted eyes, cloth and paper clothing, armor and weapons. Great facial and body expression. The doll measures 12 1/2" tall and 9" wide. The stand measures 9 1/2" wide, 2 1/4" tall and 6 3/4" deep.

This is a very fine old Chinese shallow bowl made in the popular Butterfly pattern. It is in very good condition with minor wear and a tiny flea bite to the glaze on the rim. It measures 9 1/2 inches across and 1 1/2 inches deep.

Japanese antique small small tansu with locking bar (bo). The bar has wrought iron fittings with a working locking mechanism. The bar functioned to keep the drawers closed during transportation. The wood is finished with a lacquered surface. Edo period, circa 1860. It measures 26.75" high, 25" wide, 14.5" deep .

A beautiful famille rose dish decorated with flowers and Chinese characters. Jiaqing six characters mark and of the period (1796-1821). This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 1 1/2 inches high.
