A large Japanese Ko-Tamba (Tanba) Vase/Tsubo decorated with a splashed and dripped deep-green glaze pooling towards the foot on a dark-brownish body.

It was made in the Momoyama Period 16th century or earlier. This impressive vase is a wonderful example of a so called Shiji-ko vase, which means 'vase with four ears'.

Very attractive seal with a deep relief carving on both sides. Round and pierced for the string.

George V sterling silver covered urn. Made by Lionel Alfred Chrichton in London in 1916. Girdled urn with half strapwork on stepped domed foot; leaf-capped s-scroll sides handles. Cover double domed with vasiform finial and radiating strapwork. Strapwork chsed and engraved on stippled ground. A poignant tribute to the lasting popularity of Edwardian Neoclassicism in the dark days of World War I. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with carved and lacquered design on different reserves containing origami toys and flowers. Beautifully made out of dense wood allowing for fine teeth, very good lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, overall in excellent condition. Length 4.25 inches.

Our antique band ring has a pleasing minimalist vibe with its open cutwork of scrolls carved in platinum and trimmed in an 22K border. This is a simple band that is complex to make and constructed of materials that were highly expensive. Platinum was and is still an extremely strong and durable metal. The ring works beautifully for stacking ring and with gold and silver rings alike. It is as size 8 and is not size-able.

A large size netsuke depicting Rakan made of boxwood depicted seated in a meditation position, with legs crossed and back straight. His hands firmly hold the hossu, a liturgical object, a symbol of his role as a monk. This netsuke is signed Ryukei 隆桂 on an ivory dowel, as is the tuft of hair. Japanese mingei water wheel of hinoki wood. Constructed with iron nails, joinery, complete with 17 spokes and paddles with kanji characters. The central hub has an iron piston protruding for rotational function. The wheel comes with a contemporary custom steel mount which allows it to spin smoothly and silently.

Manchu women never practiced foot-binding. However, during the Qing dynasty, they did wear pedestal aka platform shoes, hoping to give the appearance of smaller feet. These shoes would give the woman a more careful walk which was perceived as dainty and more sensual. In addition, the tips of the shoes would appear to peak out from under the robes, giving the foot more dainty appearance. These shoes are embroidered on both sides with a floral motif...

A pair of famille rose cups decorated with flowers. Tongzhi(1862-1875) mark and of the period. One cup is in excellent condition, other one seems to have a restored small chip and hairline, please refer to photo #6. Size: 4-1/4"D X 2-3/8"H
