A quatrefoil sugar bowl, cover and stand all with floral decoration. The cover with a plum like fruit and leaf finial. Both the stand and the cover have painted dark purple rims. Both the stand and the bowl are marked with incised, “DV”. The stand has no punctuation and the bowl has a period after each letter. The stand is approx. 8 ½ by 7 inches (22 x 18 cm) and the sugar bowl with cover is 4 inches tall, 6 ½ inches long and 5 inched wide (10.5 x 17 x 13 cm)...

A Yuan dynasty longquan celadon large deep bowl, rounded side with deep center and unglazed base, bowl covered with good green glaze, good condition no damage, minor crackled at glaze surface, tiny glaze fritt at inner rim, no chip no crack no restoration, high ping sound with finger tip, size: 20 cm diameter.

The dark grey paste makes this dish to a very rare example of an Longquan Guan-type dish. Southern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ). The shallow dish with sloping sides, everted rim, and fourteen-lobed mouth rim is covered in a crackle-suffused glaze of sea-green color that thins on the edges. The dark grey stoneware body has turned to a reddish brown color where exposed in the firing. Diameter: 16,2 cm. Condition: Perfect.

What a great Chawan! Cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl thrown on a kick wheel. The little iron oxide bearing clay has been fully (except the footring and its surrounding) covered with a wood ash glaze which reacted with the iron oxide in the clay.

The thick and glossy glaze (guinomi-de) has a fine beautiful crazing...

This is a Nepalese illuminated manuscript, dating to circa the 18/19th century. Done in the customary "accordion" format, the book features a large multi-armed Goddess (probably Durga or Kali), with multiple attendant figures. The illuminated area measures 8-1/2" X 11-1/2" and occupies three panels of the manuscript. The reverse side consists of handwritten text (Devanagari? Sanskrit?), the whole on thickened yellow paper...

This is a large fragment from a pink sandstone statue of Bhairava, a wrathful avatar of Shiva. The piece is in exceptional condition as a fragment with little or no wear. The darkened area on the tip of the nose is where worshipers have been touching the statue over the centuries, leaving a "sweat" residue. Very finely carved and, as noted, in excellent condition. The piece measures just over 4 inches in height. Mounted on a large clear plastic base (included)...

This is one of the most beautiful and early clubs that I have handled in more than forty years. I am conservatively dating it to the 19th century, without being more specific, although I believe it could well (and accurately) be described as early in the century. The patina is superb, a rich chocolate-mahogany brown, as the photos hopefully will show. The club measures 16" in length; the head is some 3-3/4" in diameter at the widest part. This sculpture includes an inscription on the reverse and is dated to "1427 Samvat," a date that places the sculpture in the 15th century. The piece has sustained a loss to the "edging" along the top (viewer's) right,as well as a loss adjacent to the "canopy," visible in the photograph. The casting quality is, in my opinion, outstanding,completely consistent with the early Jain classical style of sculpture. The piece has a beautiful, warm brown patina. It measures 6-1/4" in height.

A finely carved jade dragon plaque dating, most likely, to the Warring States - Eastern Han period. The plaque measures 3-3/4"in length and is 1-1/2" at the widest. The stone is a grayish-green nephrite. Guaranteed authentic.

A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. Intricate, flowing spiral decoration covers the dragon's body and the disc. The piece measures 3-3/4" end to end and is, as best I can tell, made entirely without the use of modern cutting tools...

You are considering a massive neolithic nephrite jade ritual (votive) axe, weighing one pound 10 ounces and measuring 6-1/4" in length by 2-1/4" in width and 1-1/4" in thickness (16cm X 6.5cm X 3cm). Predominantly green in color (celadon), there are extensive black and brown areas, indicative of a stone with a large iron content. Rough at one end, the piece tapers to a pointed edge (not especially sharp). Massive in feeling with a great presence. Guaranteed to be ancient...
