BURNISHED POTTERY BILBIL
Cypriot; Holy Land – Late Bronze Age, 1550 – 1200 BC

Burnished pottery spindle-shaped body, long cylindrical ridged neck, flat out-turned broad rim, flat handle from neck to shoulder, splaying base. Dark brown to blacl smooth burnished suface.

During the Late Bronze Age little jugs, known, as "Bil-bils" were importaed into Canaan. They have been discovered at various sites in Israel. Lachish, Jerusalem, and Gezer, mostly in funerary contexts...

A Magnificent Sterling Silver Center Bowl or Fruit Bowl by Theodore B. Starr in an Art Nouveau Pattern with a Gadroon Border on the Top Edge and the Base. There is a Monogram on the Underside. Dimensions; 9.25" in diameter x 3.75" high; weight, a substantial 27.7 Troy ounces. Circa 1900. Excellent condition.

Chinese porcelain hat stand, of hexagonal section and lobed openings, enameled with shrimp and water reeds, titled xiaqu, with cyclical date jisi, bearing the signature Deng Bishan at Zhushan, the base with a studio mark. Size; Height of this item is 10.75 inches, in very good condition, no issues.

A Silver Pitcher, Probably Used for Milk or Cream, by Eoff and Shepherd and Retailed by Ball, Black and Co., New York. It ios marked 950, higher than the sterling 925 standard, and used briefly during the transition from coin to sterling. An Elegant Script Monogram is on the Front Cartouche. Dimensions; 9" high x 4" wide; weight; 10.1 Troy ounces. Circa 1855-1860. Excellent condition.

An antique Japanese Tansu chest in 3 sections called Ishodansu made of Tochi (Horse Chestnut) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. This chest was used for Kimono and clothes storage. Original bronze hardware and wiped lacquer finish. The front has a smooth channeled frame. Behind the sliding doors of the upper section lies a small drawer to the left and a corner shelf to the right side. Center section has 3 drawers and the bottom section has 2 drawers...

A beautiful Chinese export mug done in the mandarin palette. This mug is free from any damages and virtually has very little wear, almost nothing. I have not seen any better for the age and is very difficult to find in such pristine condition. Circa 1780. This is one of those pieces that the camera doesn't quite capture the mug's exquisite beauty and detailing. The fortunate buyer will not be disappointed. This beauty measures 5" high and 4" diameter.

Set of 12 English Mintons Porcelain Cobalt blue and Etched Gold border Dinner plates, 10 1/4" diameter, 1" high, with brilliantly encrusted and raised gold border on top of the cobalt blue wider border, and impressed mark "Mintons Est. 1793 England", "g6262" in Red plus impressed mark on the bottom. The condition is very good, no damages, gold etched raised borders have some reflections from the camera settings, all in excellent condition.

This lovely Shino tea bowl fashioned from coarse Mino clay is covered in feldspar glazing, has a classic ferrous abstract painting across the front, and shows nice age—most likely from early to middle Edo.

Shino-ware dates to the Momoyama period when potters were attempting to recreate white porcelain-wares that were being imported from China at the time. Originally they were made in a single-chamber anagama style kilns set into the hillsides...

Pair of Chinese Chinese enameled porcelain vases, depicting bats and peaches against the floral background, having Chinese seal mark on the base, from late 19th/early 20th century period. Size; Height of each vase is 13 inches with no condition concerns.

All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hirute handles and Urushi lacquered body. Lock plates shaped in the form of the auspicious Paulownia leaf. Upper section has 2 drawers and a hinged safety door with two small drawers behind. Lower section has 2 full width drawers.

Japanese red lacquer netsuke of an oni on a drum. Late 18th century. Carved wood with red and black lacquer. The Oni leaning on mallet having crawled out of hole in the drum. Himotoshi on the bottom. Size; Dimensions of carving are 1.25" x 1.25". Condition Report; Good condition with no imperfections. Purchased from Kyoto Art Club, 1962. Provenance: The Humphrey collection Houston, Texas.

A wonderful example of a Dr. Wall, or First period, Worcester small bowl, thinly potted and pencilled (painted with a very fine brush) in black with the "Boy on a Buffalo" pattern.
