The base engraved with two horned animals with an arrow symbol behind the largest animal and a severed head between them, it's carved with a low rounded gable, drilled through.

Early 19th century marine (walrus tusk) netsuke of a standing oni, its foot on rockery, leaning on a huge war club and eating a rice cake, and a puppy at his feet looking wiistfully at the same cake. Wonderful strong early carving, wonderful face, excellent depiction of its muscular arms and legs. Grainy texture of walrus tusk core can be seen at the bottom and on the back of the carving. himotoshi is formed by natural openings in the carving. Height 2.47 inches.

A fine large cylinder seal of the early Jemdet Nasr barrel shaped design, Mesopotamia, 3300-2900 BC. The seal is carved in a hard and dense material either a marple type or perhaps shell (?).

Seal very large for the period and craved with a fine grit-pattern and concenthric lines at each end. A string-carved round line at one side would have been made in antiquity.

This is Japanese Antique Indigo dye shirushi Hanten coat Maiji. It is thick indigo dye cotton. The lining is very good katazome.It is a hand-spun cotton that is very soft to the touch. It is indigo of nature. It is an impressive motif. There is a little stain. However, there is no damage. The family crest on the back is patchwork.It is very good. 19th century Chinese miniature scholar’s rock in a shape of a dramatic mountain massif with foothills, several peaks and snow fields. 19th C Chinese shagreen over copper eyeglass case with a carnelian toggle on silk tassel of Shou Lao, the Buddhist god of longevity. In very good antique condition having some damage that seems to have been stabilized on the upper left top edge. Measures 7 inches x 3".

This is a tsutsugaki yuzen dye silk children's kimono from the Edo period.(1800-1867) The design of beautiful cherry blossom trees and herds of horses is gorgeous, elegant and lively. It can be seen that the influence of samurai culture remains strong. There is a light stain, but it is not noticeable. No damage. It is an item that can be recommended for collection. Pair of French heavy weight gilt bronze candlesticks with inkwell having banded agate cabochons. The agate stones were carefully cut with white stripe in the center of each stone to give the appearance of an "eye". Dating circa 1840, this desk set is in excellent condition and features a grape pattern. Candlesticks can be used separately when the occasion arises. In excellent condition, candlesticks are 8" high x 3 5/8" diameter. Inkwell measures 4.5" diameter 4.5" high.

Antique Japanese gold lacquer inro with a scene of a waterfall on one side and a sage on the other. The water crashes around rocks where chrysanthemums blossom. On the reverse, a sage sits among the flowers at the base of the falls. The inro case has 4 compartments with interiors covered in a dense nashiji lacquer. The ojime is made of red lacquer and is carved with a dragon. The netsuke is made of boxwood and carved in the shape of a seed pod...
