It is 1.2 inches (3 cm) tall by 2.75 inches (7 cm) wide. It is 54.9 gram.
It has rubbing and peeling of paint and lacquer, wrinkle lacquer, chips to the lacquer at the rim, a small chip at the rim, stains, traces of glue at the bottom of the box, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Kobako in the rock shape in gold lacquer fundame. The interior and underside of the kobako are in nashi-ji lacquer. The cover is decorated in hiramaki-e with a mountainous landscape on a gold background. A river crosses the mountains, bordered by pines, rocks and thatched cottages. Leaves and flowers enhanced with red adorn the sides.

A Korean lacquered box used to hold the ink stone and writing implements that were used during the Joseon Dynasty. Such a box was made by and for the common man or farmer and is a good example of Korean Folk Art. The box's lid fits over an inner tray where the ink stone and water dropper were kept. Unusual lightweight original watch chain of made of gunmetal, a material used to make decorative chains, purses, brooches, buckles and other items during the Victorian era. Gunmetal is an alloy of copper and tin. Our chain has a lovely complex knot link that is shown closeup in the images. It is hard to imagine the time it took to construct such a chain by hand, and a similar link could not be made today.

Edwardian sterling silver baby bowl on plate. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1911. Bowl has curved and tapering sides. Plate has well and wide shoulder. Both have whiplash-scrolled rim and applied figures—an eclectic frieze that includes dog-petting hobos, stickball playing boys, tool-bearing workmen, and pipe-smoking grannies. An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket with grated half hooped corners it in its design. The handle is loosely suggested in its token form suggesting its ethereal nature and use in the art of Ikebana flower arranging. It is a two slatted flat base with a bottom grid pattern measuring about 1" apart. The basket has an ephemeral quality as if it was made at the whim of the basket artist for the moment.

An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket in a stylized Baluster form with bi-color bamboo intertwined with mature bamboo featuring dark nodules in a diagonal cross-hatch pattern. Each square of the pattern measures 1 3/8" and they are not tightly woven though they are in scale with the size of the basket.
