Early Chinese export Rose Medallion porcelain condiment dish. The details are very finely painted and vibrantly colored. China, ca. 1860's. Excellent condition; the gilding along the top edges is mostly worn away; no chips or cracks. 3-1/8" x 2-3/8" x 11/16".

Unusual late 19th century Japanese fossilized pink coral ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in barrel shape with natural features in the material. Nicely made, large central hole, pleasant patina. Height 0.73 inches.

Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with gold lacquer decoration of flowering chrysanthemum branches, design continuing on the ridge and onto the back. Beautifully made, very good lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, some wear as can bee seen on photos. Length 5.25 inches.

Offered for sale is a desireable Civil War era, wide mouth, apothecary bottle sporting “FLOR. CASS.” on the under glass label! I believe that it means FLOWER CASSIA.

The nine inch tall bottle sports the following embossing on the base: "W.N.WALTON PAT'D SEPT. 23D 1862." The fancy, applied recessed label is complete, shows minor age related flaws and is in very good condition.

The bottle has a few unobtrusive manufacturing bubbles and flaws; otherwise no damage...

Two antique bone thread winders one in the shape of a fish and the other with to concave ends. Both measure just shy of 1 1/2". These would be nice to add to a sewing collection. Mid to late 1800's.

20084647 A demitasse size sterling silver souvenir spoon by Watson. The handle of the Louisiana state spoon shows the state seal, cotton bales and various plants on the front. The back of the handle shows the state capitol, a creole cottage, and the Jackson Monument. The bowl of the spoon shows the Jackson Statue in New Orleans.

A namasu of slightly flattened form with an inturned rim. Decorated in nishiki-de style with a combination of underglaze blue, gilding and gilt outlined enamels typical of the late Mid Edo period c.1750-80. The central mikomi incorporating auspicious peonies painted in underglaze blue with two eliptical reserves containing a beached boat and elements of a landscape. Framed by a band containing two partially obscured dragons chasing flaming pearls...

Two(2) Japanese Black Wrought Iron heavy weight solid Tansu Chest Hardware or Drawer Handles, 2 different sizes, Larger handle with carved pierced Back plate(7" wide, 1 1/8" high=outer measurement, and original nail and hole(4 1/4" wide). Smaller handle only without back plate(5" wide outer maximum measurement, 3" wide(inner top measurement), 1 5/8" high maximum height.

This are small red boiled wool mittens, hand sewn and 3" long. They are from the 1890-1910. In very good condition and amazing they are still together.

A 19thC Davis Bros. sterling silver napkin ring. This 1-7/8" diameter and 1-1/4" wide late 19th century sterling silver napkin ring is stamped DAVIS BROS. and STERLING. There are a number of American silversmiths/firms with the name Davis, also a Toronto manufacturing firm of that name. It could possibly also refer to a retailer. It has a script AC(?) monogram, it weighs a substantial 40 grams, and it is in excellent vintage condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

Offered is an early portable Steelyard scale that is designed to weigh goods up to 30 pounds. This primitive iron scale sports hand-forging construction and measures just over 13 inches in length. The manufacturer's identifying name is almost fully readable and is stamped "?? WHITHFIELD & SONS".

A Dutch Delft hand painted wall tile depicting a rabbit pushing off on its hind legs in motion to the left with its ears and tail high. Imari ware soba choko (soba noodle dipping cup) from the mid-late Edo period (1600-1868.) Porcelain with underglaze cobalt blue painting of "takenoko" bamboo shoot pattern. Soba choko were originally used for small morsels of food much like the mukozuke is used in today's Japanese place setting. Offered is a handsome, C1870s, woodworkers, Adjustable Dado Plane. It is marked "W.COATES 57 BRIDGE STREET - MANCHESTER" and is most likely of English origin.

Dado planes are designed to cut a groove across the wood's grain. The front-mounted nicker iron would score the edge of the groove and thus avoid splitting and lifting the grain. The adjustable depth stop (which is controlled by the brass screw on top) regulates how deep the blade cuts into the wood.

Sterling silver bonbon spoon in Baker-Manchester’s 1900 “Spartan” pattern. The wonderful design incorporates a knight’s helmet with exuberant feathers and foliage. The matte-finished bowl has both pierced and bright-cut decoration. The reverse is marked with Baker-Manchester’s hallmark and the patent date.

This fine Ruby Block goblet was made by several manufacturers during the 1880s and beyond. It features hexagonal blocks surrounded by diamond "cuts", but it is pressed glass of course, made in 4 parts, the bowl being fused to the stem.

Known by many names and made by many companies, this goblet is unusual because the top is ruby stained, a reversal of the usual placement. Souvenir of Lewistown, PA is faintly scripted. We guarantee it to be antique.

An Arita serving bowl, namasu, of moulded simplified lotus form partially celadon glazed with a ko sometsuke style Sansui landscape in the well of the bowl framed by enamelled Chestnut branches outlined in gilt. The reverse plain and the interior of the foot-ring clear glazed. The bowl is typical of the output of the Higuchi kiln in the Nangawara valley which specialised in combing celadon and clear glazes. The bowl dates to the Horeki era and the mid 18th century. See Shibata Volume IV no 187 ...

This wonderfully decorative Victorian sterling silver fork by Frank M. Whiting Co. was used to serve pastry at the time but would enhance any table setting today. It is reticulated with a scroll foliage design in repousse, tongs are splayed, monogram KC in script, marked Sterling, Frank M. Whiting maker's mark, 14 Pat. Mar 7, 98, measures 7 1/4 in.
