This Qing dynasty Tong Zhi period (1862~1874) gold and blue square bowl is 3” high and 6 ½” wide. It has a turquoise interior and gold floral design over blue background exterior. It has a red Tong Zhi mark on the bottom. Aside from some worn gold trim, it is in great condition.

Porcelain Chinese figurine of Tsao Kuo Chiu, who is a patron saint of theatrical profession. Richly decorated in polychrome enamels, Tsao Kuo Chiu is one of the 8 Immortals. We have never seen a theatrical monkey at the base, but he is a nice addition to this very unique 19th century Chinese figurine. Marked CHINA on the bottom, we are dating him Circa 1900. In excellent condition, he measures 7.5 inches tall.

This 19th century red and gold vase is 9 1/8” high, 3 ¼” on the widest part and 1 ¾” thick. It depicts a crane resting on a plum blossom tree. Some bamboo and pine trees and an inscription in Chinese are on the rest of the body. The calligraphy and picture are well executed. Unfortunately, the four or six character date mark on the bottom has been rubbed off. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century Chinese egg spinach vase is 15 ½” high and 8 ½” on the widest part. It depicts phoenixes surrounded by peony blossoms. There is a blue honorable Qian Long mark on the bottom. Aside from an old chip on the rim, it is in great condition.

Chinese Dao Guang period (1821~1850) white porcelain bowl with blue ¡°SHOU¡± (longevity) on the outside and a plain turquoise glaze inside. The orange pattern on the rim has rubbed off slightly. Japanese half section Mizuya (kitchen buffet tansu) with four Keyaki burl front panels opening to a wide, narrow open space along the top of the chest. Below this are two large openwork sliding door panels of geometric design, with a small door to the left opened by a hidden Persimmon wood latch. Six drawers with Keyaki burl faces are lined along the bottom of the chest, with brass warabite pulls.

Antique Japanese small ko tansu made all of sugi (cryptomeria) wood with lovely raised akita sugi wood on the front. Three large drawers with squared iron drawer pulls and rectangular locks. On the lower right hand portion are two small drawers with ring pulls.

A large architectural Buddhist temple carving of a Dragon (Ryu), with reverse glass painted eyes. The dragon clutches a smooth clear quartz crystal ball in its 3 point sharp claws. The high relief carvings show the dragon's body coiled behind clouds of smoke and waves. Dragons are the powerful embodiment of yin and yang and are seen as a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people that are worthy.
