19th c Meiji Dynasty Bronze altar Temple Toro - Lantern in Bronze , heavy well made and gives off wonderful light . Collected in the Japanese country side in the 90s. Size H 18" diameter 7" and it has 4 pieces. Buddhist altar lamp. 4 parts top near finial slightly bent.
The bouquet of flowers for this stunning silk fukusa was made using yuzen resist dying, free-hand embroidery, and gold surihaku, with gold and silver foil couching applied to create the bow. On the reverse side is a large mons (family crest). Three of the four original silk tassels are still intact. As a decorative item, this fukusa would make a fabulous wall hanging or framed artwork. In excellent condition, we estimate this fukusa to be mid Showa. It measures 26” wide x 29” high...
A four panel shoji screen decorated with carvings of cranes, pine, and bamboo framed in a black lacquered frame. The screen is often seen on the side of a Japanese alcove so that the light during the day can shine in and illuminate the alcove while protecting the piece decorating the alcove. The very well carved young beauty is a 1930’s product. She holds a fan in one hand and a small musical instrument in the other. It is 8 ¾” high (with base is 10 ½” high) 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. There is an old repair on her left hand. Aside from that, it is in great condition.

This child's dress front in cross stich from central Afghanistan dates to the mid to late 20th century. It measures 11¾ x 18 inches (29.8 x 45.7 cm). Traditional Hazara pieces (the smallest ethnic minority group of Afghanistan), like Pashtun pieces, have a yoke under the neckline from which gathered, long panels of fabric flow. Sleeves are normally wide, and they wear matching cuffed pants underneath...

Netsuke of standing Jurojin (one of the 7 Gods of happiness, usually associated with longevity) holding a scroll and a fan in his hands, with a reclining spotted deer (symbol of longevity) by his feet. Excellent carving - see the detailing of his face, incised fingernails, coat and spots of the deer. Great quality staining, beautiful patina. Millefleur decorated charger on a burgundy ground well covered in a colorful display of lush blooms, the exterior left bare. The double foot rim encircling the recessed displays a four character mark surrounded by double squares in iron red.

This mask represents a tiger, note a very fine work of sculpture with the gouge, the deep carvings are highlighted with a white coloring. Very hard wood, the inside shows the natural patina of oxidized wood over time. Very good age likelu first part of the 20th or even earlier. H 21 cm, width 20 cm.
