A set of 5 chataku (saucer for tea cup) made of brass and black checker pateern looks painted with urushi. In good condition but some parts where black urushi came off and hair lines. It has engraved mark, "Shobido" in the back. 20th century. Glass tea cup is not included. 11cm x 11cm x 1.2cm

This very nice boxwood statue with a fitted hard wood base is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a legendary Chinese figure called Ji Gong with one hand holding a wine bottle and the other hand petting his pet lion. It is 9 ½” high (with base is 10 7/16” high), 7 ¾” wide and 4” thick. As the story goes, Ji Gong was a Buddhist of the Southern Song; his dates are 1148~1209. His original name was Li Xin-Yuan. He came from Tai-Zhou in modern Zhe Jiang province, Lin-Hai county...

Four(4) Japanese Imari Porcelain Bowls, for serving soup or rice, 4 1/2" diameter-top rim, 2 1/2" high, typical Imari colors, red, green, gold and underglaze blue with large Peony flowering branches spread out between large red Ruyi style cartouche. The condition is good, no damages.
Japanese plaster and paper mache mask of a Boddhisattva (Bosatsu in Japanese), a Buddhist monk who has reached a high level of enlightenment. The mask has long earlobes, typical of a holy being in Buddhism, green lacquered hair pulled into two buns, and golden lacquer skin with traces of black lacquer. Early 20th century.

Vintage Japanese okimono of one of the 3 wise monkeys in their habitual "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” attitude - in this case Mizaru covering his eyes. Carved in ittobori (one cut) style typical for the Hida school. Very clever rendition of the animal, much more creative and challenging as a number of intersecting planes versus natural familiar rounded lines. Very clever use of ichii (yew wood), its texture nicely imitating fur of the animal, in excellent condition...

1940s - 1950s, Chinese moss agate low slung lotus style brush washer. The moss agate shows nice markings being genuine and is a light grey/green to darker green in color. The rim has two lotus flowers and two seed pods placed around the undulating and curling top. Condition is excellent having the normal characters of this type agate, which are natural indentations. Having a very lovely shape and design, it measures 6.25" x 5.5" x .75" high.
