DESCRIPTION: An intricately painted Native American pottery seed pot or bowl, dating from the early to mid 20th C. (1930 - 1950). This ovoid pot is painted in concentric circular bands of geometric designs separated by red stripes on a taupe colored ground. On the bottom is written "#22 Vase Navajo Ariz," along with other collectors' identification marks and numbering systems. Very good condition, minor scuffs and pockmarks; no chips, cracks or restorations...

An expertly hand carved dark salmon coral pin dating to the early part of the 20th century, 1920 - 1930s. Using the natural formation of the branch coral, the artist created a tree trunk with a chrysanthemum and 2 buds. In Chinese culture the chrysanthemum symbolizes long life, is one of the 4 Chinese seasonal flowers, and is often associated with nobility. In excellent condition, this rare beauty measures about 1.5" high.
Chinese Gilt Bronze Jadeite Carved Belt Buckle, Circa 1930's
The overall measurement is 3.6 inches (9.2 cm) long by 1.2 inches (3 cm) wide. The jadeite is 1.6 inches (4.1cm) long by 0.78 inch (2 cm) wide. It is 92.9 gram.
It has rubbing of gilt and surface wears and scratches. The jadeite has inclusions and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

1930's Chinese Yunnan Tibetan Silver Pendant with Agate, Turquoise, Coral Carved Beads Necklace
The necklace is 36.2 inches (92 cm) in circumference by 16.9 inches (43 cm) in length. The pendant is 1.2 inches (5.5 cm) long by 2.1 inches (6.2 cm) wide. The coral beads rang from 6.79mm to 10 mm. The turquoise beads range from 6.4 mm to 12.6 mm. It is 142.8 gram.
It is tarnished and has oxidation, and surface wears and scratches at the pendant...
A large Chinese porcelain communist badge depicting Mao Zhedong, the father of Chinese communism. The back of the badge has a date of 1968, the years when China was going through social policy changes. The photo is showing Mao during his campaigns in the Shangxi region. A genuine, vintage hand embroidered and beaded Pashtun tablecloth or tray cover cloth from the early part of the 20th century. These decorative embroidered and beaded textiles were made to show off the skills of young women in contemplation of marriage and this was brought back from Afghanistan in the 1960s. It is typically brilliantly coloured and it measures 33" x 27" (that measurement includes the beaded strands, which are approximately 1/1/2" in length)...

The creator of this lovely Hagi chawan, Hirose Tanga (b. 1939) is the master-potter of Tenpozan kiln in the city of Hagi. When I acquired this piece I thought it reminded me of bowls produced by Yoshida Shuen (apprenticed under NLT Miwa Kyusetsu). As it turns out, Yoshida worked alongside Hirose in establishing Tenpozan and in training young potters in the art of “oni” Hagi which utilizes a rough textured clay and a milky translucent glaze (like the bowl shown here)...

A very impressive African tribal Senufo bird statue measuring 61.75 inches high with a 25" wingspan. The bird's wings are carved in relief with images of lizards, crocodiles, turtles and birds. The body beneath the beak has a carving of a large lizard. The rest of the bird features repeated geometric carvings on front and back. In very good condition with expected splits to wood and various minor conditions associated with age...
Beautiful vintage Japanese sodenashi (work vest) made with indigo sakiori (rag weave) cotton, woven with multicolor areas to create a lovely patchwork effect, edged in solid indigo cotton, reinforced along the back, sides, and back of the neck in sashiko stitching. These vests were traditionally worn by workers in mountainous regions.

An "ogee" shaped porcelain bowl decorated with polychrome 'famille rose' enamels depicting two pheasants amongst flowering peony and pomegranate branches and below a band of alternating lotus flowers and the eight Buddhist emblems, the Bajixiang. The seal mark to the base reads "Zhong Hua Min Guo" (Republic of China), dating it to the period 1911-1949.
