Found in the Philippines. Covered jar with an applied finial on top of a rounded body with carved vertical lines chambering the jar to seven sides. Each chamber is decorated with carved horizontal lines and four applied lug handles. The vessel is covered in a white glaze and its base remains fully unglazed. Measurements: height 8”inches...

Chinese pottery brown glazed granary, with cylindrical shape, decorated with bands of incised lines, and supported by three legs in the shape of bears. Lead glaze with copper is the main colorant used in Han period to produce brown glaze. Brownnware became popular during the Eastern Han period.

Etruscan Impasto kantharos from Latium, 7th century BC; likely from Crustumerium. 6“ tall x 12” wide (15 cm x 30 cm), repaired with 2 spikes partially restored. It's a rare opportunity to own this striking piece. Smooth burnished surface with engraved design. It's a particularly fine spike-handled piece. These seldom come up for sale.

Ancient Egyptian carved amulet in red stone with finely polished details, Late Period, 26th-30th Dynasty, 664-332 BC

Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eberhard Hanfstaengl (1886-1973). He was a famous German Art director and head of the Berlin National Gallery as well as other higher positions. Educated as Art Historian. Comes with COA.

Etruscan bowl of shallow form with two vertical ribs and false cord decoration on the inward sloping rim. The single handle is marked with grooves. Set on a high flared foot.

A very rare and interesting amuletic cylinder seal with top loop, Western Mesopotamia, c. 2200-1600 BC.

The amulet seal is shaped as a tied knot of robe with a loop at the top, engravings on the sides. We have never had such a piece in stock, high unusual!

Size: Substantial - 38 mm. tall and 11 mm. wide.

Condition: Nice VF, intact with deposits and cleaning marks.

Fine Tall Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider

This fine and elegant pottery model of a horse and rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. The horse stands alert with its head turned a little to its left. The riders sits leaning slightly forward with arms outstretched.

This is quite large example with a height of 39 cm (15.25 inches)...

Small wide mouth grey pottery jar with “soy” brown glaze from an unknown Southern Kiln. The glaze resembles Jizhou ware. Circa Song Dynasty or earlier, the body is quite thinly potted with delicate lugs near the mouth. There is fritting on the mouth and handle but no cracks or chips. H: 9cm/3.5in and D: 6cm/2.3in.

Fine and rare early example of a Jomon Period Dogu Clay Figure, the earliest known Japanese figures. The Dogu acted as effigies of people. They manifested some kind of sympathetic magic. For example, it may have been believed that illnesses could be transferred into the Dogu, and then destroyed, clearing the illness, or any other misfortune. Because of the ritual destruction of Dogu, they are quite rare. This primitive abstract fertility figure has a futuristic look...

Etruscan bucchero olpe with ovoid body, truncated conical neck and lightly flared lip. The strap handle arching from rim to shoulder. Standing on a low ring base.
Bucchero ware was the distinct local pottery type of ancient Etruria. The black clay was created reducing the supply of oxygen in the smoke-filled atmosphere of the kiln.
Rasmussen type 1b. The shape is fairly popular in bucchero for a short time period.
