Fine Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Porcelain Bowl

This attractively-shaped monochrome glazed porcelain bowl with flared rim was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Late Song - Yuan Dynasty). It is coated in a glossy finely-crackled transparent pale greenish-blue qingbai glaze save for the inner surface of the small foot that remains unglazed.

Marvelous core Assyrian style depicting an offer scene: A manheaded and winged horse / winged Kentaur is bending it's knee to the great King or perhaps Sin the moon god, below the winged sun-disc emblem of Ashur. He is holding the beast, while another deity comes running swinging a sword. An attendant behind.

A beautiful set of ten small shallow dishes, each uniquely decorated with a poem and image from the Edo period Sasashima Kiln of central Nagoya. The box, titled Sasashima Yaki Teshio Jumai (10 Sasashima Salt Dishes) is dated inside to the Tenpo era, (1830-1844). Each dish is 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) diameter and all are in excellent condition. Outside cloth of yogi which is one kind of futon in the shape of kimono, made of hand-spun cotton and vegetable indigo dye. It has tsutsugaki (glue-resist dyeing) "takara-zukushi" (various treasures) design. In good condition as a whole but has three mending patches in front and a few stains. This is a very elegant ramie summer children's kimono from the Edo period. The sleeves have a hand-painted bamboo pattern. The family crest is the rare mitsumorikumikaku. There are no stains or damage, and it is very carefully made.size: Length :90cm (35.4inch) / sleeve to sleeve :83cm (32.6inch)

Cup with handles cut from white Celadon jade. Decorated with “nails” in relief in the archaic style. The two handles stand out widely from the cup. The handles of this type of cup were most often damaged and restorers have partially reduced or even completely eliminated them. The one presented here has exceptionally preserved its handles in their entirety. One of the two has probably been slightly damaged and ground as we can see in the photos...

A fine Chinese gold-splash two-handled bronze censer, delicately cast, of bombe form, early Qing, 17th/early 18th century, 12cms diam., Xuande six-character mark. An interesting and quite attractive small limestone figure of a Noble Lady, New Kingdom, ca. 1300–1200 B.C.

The lady’s attire and hairstyle are typical of the fashion after the second half of the 18th Dynasty. She wears an elaborate envelopping wig and a wrap-around garment, pectorial on the neck.

Signed Webb Queen’s Burmese small pedestal footed creamer. The creamer stands 3 3/4 inches tall and has the impressed Webb signature on the ground pontil.

A classic Nanban style Japanese lacquer tray decorated with mother of pearl inlay featuring four panels of birds among floral patterns separated by bands and frets dating from the 17th century later Momoyama to early Edo era. It is 43 × 28.5 x 2cm (17 x 11 x 1 inches). It has been fully restored, with repairs to the original lacquer and inlay, and the underside has been re-lacquered. It comes in a custom fitted Chinese style cloth bound box lined with red silk.

Webb satin finish peachblow rose bowl, 3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. The bowl is cased in white with the exterior shaded from dark red at the top to a yellowish red at the bottom. The rim is crimped and edged in gold. The body of the rose bowl is decorated with gold prunus and a butterfly. There is a ground and polished pontil mark.

A small vase sculpted in the shape of a cluster of roses covered in cockscomb red by Kiyomizu Rokubei V enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase shows the influence of Art-Nouveau, and Rokubei was one of the leading proponents of blending Western and Eastern ideals in clay art. The vase is 6.5cm (2-1/2 inches) diameter, 18.5cm (7-1/2 inches) tall and in perfect condition. It comes wrapped in the original artist stamped cloth complete with the original black wood stand.

This attractive pottery model of a horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in white and creamy-yellow pigments with also faint traces of red pigment to the base. This horse is well-modelled and stands upright and alert.

A fantastic quality Middle- or Neo-Assyrian cylinder seal of a tall and thick type, c. 12th.-8th. century BC.

The seal carved in a rare attractive green-black stone with an Archer and winged sphinx. Top and bottom with a fine herringbone band. Multiple symbols in the fields and the archer has a detailed quiver on his back.

Size: 41 mm. tall and 14-15 mm. thick.

Condition: F-VF, break professionally mended and filled, othervise, extremely fine depiction.

An Egyptian amulet of animal headed deity in green faience, Late Period, c. 660-332 BC.

Size: c. 33 mm. long.

Condition: Fine, repaired through the midsection.

Provenance: Old German Collection, comes with the Original Certificate of Authenticity from a Cairo Antiquites dealer in the 1950s-1960s - the Ding Dong Bazaar, no less! This is a fascinating ancient Egyptian alabaster vase, c. 1200 BC, 4" tall. It's intact and made from a rough piece of alabaster, with its cracks filled in while it was still forming underground. It was purchased at an antique market in Marin, CA.

Wonderful Ca. 1930 Kyoto-yaki ceramic bowl signed by Nishigawa in a signed original box. Inscripted on the box is the word Nishiki-ga meaning patterned after the obis woven in the Nishiki weaving area of Kyoto. 13cm tall x 28cm in diameter. Great condition.
