Complete footed cast bronze Hu (wine container), terminating curved and bulbous contour flaring on square mouth. Banded edge and lidded square cover. Has a slight apex top with four serpentine shaped mounted on a terminal bends. The ring handles of the hu measures 2 1/2" diameter with loped and mounted on a taotie mask which is molded in low relief...

Oribe is a visual style named after the late-16th-century tea master Furuta Oribe (1544-1615). Typically, black or green glazes are applied to the bodies of these works and light-colored windows are created using feldspar. These high-contrast areas then acts as a canvas upon which abstract, minimalistic, and often naturalistic themes are painted.

Such fused-rod beads represent one of the high points of Islamic glass-making, and this is one of the best examples on the market. It is manufactured from combed mosaic canes of white, red, yellow and green, into which three vertical panels each composed of four eyes have been set. Each eye has three concentric layers of black and white, red, and yellow. Though only a few of these beads have been found in Fustat itself, they were exported very widely and are found from West Africa to Indonesia...

A high quality milk glass goblet paneled with 9 facets and decorated with 3D grape and leaf design, most likely Westmoreland No. 1881. Stem is also faceted, standing on round foot. The "milk" alternates between translucence and opacity. This goblet is early 20th C. and in excellent condition.

We have left the original collector's identification tag on the foot, as it relates to the complete provenance of the glass...

Rare Tibetan antique skull drum called a damaru (or damru). Two skulls make up the two sided drum connected in the middle. Two small beads at the end of thin cords attached in the center beat the drum when it held upright and twisted. Extremely rare. Excellently potted porcelain body with a lipped everted rim, covered with an excellent Celadon-coloured glaze. The base unglazed. Yue ware ( Yueyao ) Tang Dynasty - Five Dynasties ( 10th. century ). Diameter: 14,4 cm. H : 8,3 cm. Condition: One crack and one filled "split-off" to the inside of the rim ( please see the enlargement ). Excellent glaze condition. The body despite the short crack, still with a very nice "ping-tone" when tapped.

Late Ming Dynasty, ca. 1600

Glazed with turquoise, amber and green enamels, this laughing Buddha holds his large belly with one hand, and clasps a rosary in the other. The back is unglazed and a stabilized hairline extends from the foot to the top of the base. There is a collection inventory number incised on the rear base and there is a small chip to the foot. It is accompanied by a later carved wooden base.
