Federal Mahogany swell front chest of drawers. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Maryland, probably Baltimore, 1790 to 1810. This chest is similar in ways to an example in "Furniture in Maryland, 1740-1940", Weidman, 1984, item #77, page 123. On both, the top conforms to the bow front case, projecting a bit beyond the case. And both have nicely formed French feet, inlaid banding on the drawers and above the skirt, and inlaid chevrons centering the escutcheons...

Arts & Crafts sterling silver picture frame. Made by Watrous Mfg. Co. (part of International Silver Co.) in Wallingford, Conn., ca 1920. Rectangular window with curved corners in same surround with allover spot hammering; at top plain rectangle (vacant). Ensemble of four Ming sancai glazed chickens used as ancestral offerings. The large green one has had its head broken and glued back on, otherwise all are in good condition. Heights are between 11cm and 6cm.

Japanese antique box constructed of Kiri (paulownia) wood with original dark red lacquer finish. The top iron handle may be used to carry the box, and it also opens the top shallow compartment for safely keeping calligraphy papers. Below, the main body of the box holds two long drawers originally used for ink stones, brushes, and other scholar's implements.

A Leeds, Yorkshire creamware plate with pierced border, late 18th century. Diameter "9½/ 24 cm. Condition: some stains to the well, a glaze flake and some small nicks to the foot rim (cf. pics).

A Song/Yuan Celadon Ewer. Length approximately 10 cm and height approximately 5.3 cm. Covered with the crackled-glaze and had 2 (two) short hairlines at the rim. Good condition.

Chinese pair of moon viewing chairs, made of huang-huali hardwood with dramatic grain. Carved in faux bamboo. Each chair handcrafted for a comfortable reclining position and matched with a slide out foot rest. The joints show sign of shrinkage and patina of its age and condition.
