Scarce and beautiful early type of pottery Oil lamp, Roman 1st.-2nd. century AD.

The lamp is of the Loeschcke Typus VIII and displays a scene with Hermes in very high relief. The lamp is stamped with a known scarce makers name: COPPI.RES

Size: 10 cm.

Condition: Choice and completely intact, thus rare!

A choice and large tanged bronze lance, Ancient Near East, mid 2nd. mill. BC BC. 'Luristan' Turkmenistan / Uzbekistan bronze age.

A very impressive and decorative bronze lance with a long, bent tang, massive socket and a broad, leaf-shaped blade with highly profiled midrib.

A beautiful lance that would have been highly efficient on combat.

A pair of Royal Doulton Art Deco vases attributed to designer Bessie Newbery. In perfect condition, these vases are well suited to any home including mid-century modern where they can add a bit of interest. Dates between 1902 -1922 and measures 8 inches high.

Superb Georgian sterling silver swing-handle basket. The bottom of the basket is formed of a silver sheet stamped and pierced in an intricate grapevine motif. The sides, constructed of interwoven silver wire, rise from the base and are decorated with grape cluster appliqués. The rim suggests grape vines, as well. The swing handle is decorated at the top with another cluster of grapes and foliage. The whole is raised on acanthus leaf feet...

English blue and white transfer printed plate by Clews, Staffordshire, c 1820. Clews (1818-1834) produced patterns with motifs intended for the American market. This pattern in a soft blue shade, however, is of a guide demonstrating some Italian classical ruins to a lady traveller seated on a donkey, all viewed as from inside a grotto. Flat back with impressed mark: Clews, warranted Staffordshire. Diameter "9½/ 24 cm. Condition: two chips, one to the underside of rim, as shown in photos.

A fine and well balance potted dish, decorated to interior with incised a pair of aubergine dragons surrounded a shou medallion in the center, the cavetto sides with five clouds. The exterior with a pair of dragons chasing pearl on yellow ground glaze. Yongzheng six characters mark on the base within double circle, probably of the period. Condition is excellent. Diameter: 19cm.

Diameter approximately 31 cm. Little bit repaired at the rim. Soft green glazed. In good condition.

An authentic marble stele fragment depicting an Apsara, measuring 4-3/4" in height by 3-1/2" in width. The carving is very well done and the details are crisp. The surface retains its original patina. A very fine example, mounted on a custom stand (the base of the sculpture has been drilled with a hole to accommodate the shaft). Large Thai painting. Paint on paper backed on to material and framed. Ex collection of Dr Henry Ginsburg, curator of Thai collections in the British Library, London. Estimated to be late 19th century. 150 x 99 cm. Some creasing but generally very good condition. Can be viewed in central London by arrangement. A very fine sometsuke dish of scalloped octalobed form painted with a mon form central motif of a symmetrically arranged pair of leaping carp. Framed by a continuous band of botan karakusa, Peonie lotus scroll, within which are reserves containing, dragons, Ryu, in clouds and a gilt rim, kin-beni. The reverse decorated with hagi-karakusa, vine pattern and a six character mark for the Chinese Emperor Jiajing. The quality of the painting is of the highest quality...

A beautiful Art Nouveau panel-cut crystal vase, the surface completely etched in a swirling design of flowers resembling columbines. The etching is highlighted with soft gilt details that bring out the depth of the pattern. The rim of the vase is finished in a sawtooth pattern derived from the shapes of the engraved blossoms. Although often attributed to Moser, this style of engraving with gilt highlights is typical of the Art Nouveau designs from the great Bohemian glasshouse Harrach...

Ancient Egyptian faience cartouche plaque. One side is incised with an imitation of „Men-Kheper-Re“, the prenomen of the Pharaoh Tuthmosis III. The keeper sign is replaced with the Neith sign. The other side is incised with an animal of Seth, in front a lotus plant.

This piece has a very rare old published provenance. It comes from the famous Amherst collection,
which was sold 1921 at Sotheby...

A nice Southern Song Dynasty Longquan ware celadon Lotus bowl, covered overall with olive green glaze and lotus pattern to exterior. Condition is perfect, no any crack, no any chip and free from any restoration. Diameter: 14,6 cm and Height: 7 cm.

Large filling hole at center. Pierced handle with broken top. Nozzle blackened.
