Lovely sterling silver demitasse spoon, the handle decorated with four shades of translucent enamel. The plique-a-jour technique allows light to shine through, creating a stained glass effect. The exposed areas of silver are gilt. The back of the bowl is marked "JT830".

Late 189th century Indian bronze votive plaque depicting Khandoba (a form of Shiva worshipped in Western India) mounted on a horse with his wife Mhalsa in his lap, and a dog following the horse. Khandoba holds various implements in his upper hands and a short sword in his left lower hand. Two round holes with raised lips on top probably signify the sun and the moon. This is an interesting silver alloy ring from the mountains of Pakistan or Turkmenistan. It has what appears to be a carnelian intaglio of some sort of 4-legged creature. This is a very rare projectile point made from a stingray barb about 1000AD. It is 6 1/4 long. It was found in the Pacific Islands. It is translucent and very sharp. There is no damage or restoration. It has obvious rework. It is from the Dr. Raymond Thomas collection. I have only seen two of these in all my years of collecting. The other one was one of my most viewed artifacts on this site.

19th century netsuke in kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) shape, the top carved with phoenix (the symbol of the Empress) in flight - a motif often seen on textiles. Excellent delicate work, great depiction of differentiated feathers, eye inlaid with dark horn. Beautiful patina, compressed dust in crevices, nice old wooden bowl, old silk cord.
