The censer is cast with twin upright handles and the body is decorated with three taotie panels divided by flanges. It is raised on three tall supports each decorated with a stylised mask and a flange. Late Ming Dynasty, 16th - 17th century. H : 25,9 cm. There is an old inventory Number to the base of the body. An early Edo period Ki-Seto sake cup repurposed with a silver lid pierced with a chrysanthemum to function as an incense burner enclosed in a custom made silk pouch and bamboo case dating the transformation to New Years of Kae-7 (1854). Without the lid it is 5.5 cm (roughly 2 inches) diameter and in excellent condition.

This is pure antique Edo: Wan-shaped tea bowl made of dark, iron oxide bearing, sandy Karatsu clay. The thinly thrown body is covered with the typical white, feldspatic Shino type glaze. It differs from the Mino Shino glaze by being glossier due to a higher ash content.

Under the glaze a line was applied in iron oxide resembling the skin of a whale (kawakujira). Just the foot ring and its immediate surrounding was left unglazed. The glaze has a beautiful fine crazing...

Another wonderful tea ceremony item from the late Momoyama / early Edo Period: little distorted gourd (Hyotan) shaped choshi made of little iron bearing, coarse, unrefined Mino clay.

The expertly thrown body had roughly formed spout handle and feet attached. The lower part of the body is covered with the typical green copper oxide glaze and the upper part is decorated with lines under glaze in iron oxide resembling the pattern of a feather...

Chinese Ming dynasty Wanli period guan form jar with wide shoulders tapering to an unglazed foot and glazed, slightly recessed base decorated in underglaze blue with lotus flowers and scrolling foliage on a white ground. Ming Dynasty, Ca. early 1500s

This dish is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a design of three men playing a game of “go.” It was recovered from a shipwreck site in the Southern Philippines off the coast of Mindanao. There is a slight pitting to the glaze overall from years of submersion. There is also a tiny rim chip and very small areas of rim fritting. The glazed base displays a hastily drawn seal mark expressing luck or good wishes...

A rare and lovely Ming Dynasty, Hongzhi period ( 1488 - 1505 ) porcelain dish, decorated in underglaze Cobalt blue with a fish, swimming in a underwater scenery. Diameter : 12 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice "ping" tone when tapped.

Width approximately 18 cm (across the handles). There is a chip at each handle. In good condition.

A magnificent and rare Amida Nyorai bronze Buddha, made in the early Edo Period, which means in the early 17th. century. This statue was made in a way called lost-wax metal casting, also known as Rougata Chuuzou, which was popular only in the 6th. century and in the Edo time.

The statue is in good antique condition with no repairs or cracks.

This is a very finely cast Tibetan bronze fragment dating to the 17th century or possibly earlier. It depicts a wrathful deity, possibly Vajrabhairava, complete with finely modeled skull crown/tiara to the wrathful head. Please have a look at the photos and feel free to ask any questions. the piece measures 2.5" in height (6.25cm), not including the custom base. Exceptionally well cast with very fine detail. Not easy to find these days

A Dutch delft tile from between 1625 and 1650 showing a blue flower in the center enclosed in an oval of three blue lines. The single blossom has blue petals and a yellow center. The green leaves on a blue stem grow out of a yellow bulb on the ground. The oval with fleur-de-lis on the sides that correspond with the tile edges that are also decorated in blue with scroll work and vegetation (?). 5 inches (12.5 cm) square and slightly less than ½ inch (slightly more than 1 cm) thick...

Antique Chinese bronze figure of a seated immortal. He sits with robes flowing out around him. He holds a ruyi scepter in his right hand and another round object in his left. Kindly expression and elongated earlobes.

Japanese russet lacquered leather zunari jingasa with riveted plating. Finely disguised as metal which is completely constructed of lightweight materials strengthened by lacquer. The interior helmet is lacquered in red. The front features a large gilt mon of the Ashikaga crest. The finial form takes shape of a chrysanthemum flower. Mounted on custom display stand.
