This porcelain plate was produced in France by William Guerin Limoges in 1900. It has a diameter of 10 3/4 inches. The foot ring on the back of the plate is trimmed with gold. A blue and white transfer printed plate with the Boy on a Buffalo pattern - one of the first Chinese patterns to be "translated" by the English potteries and first used by Spode c 1795, soon also by other potters. A 19th century Staffordshire flat back china cottage 1850-60s. It is the flat back type, and measures 4 1/4" high and 3 7/16" across. The colouration is simple - yellow ochre and rust-brown.
