Tea bowl, enameled in Famille rose colours with flowers and a cricket, the inside with an auspicious peach and a key fret border in overglaze red. Tongzhi or Guangxu period, late 19th century, Height "1 ¾/ 4.8 cm, diameter "2 ¾/ 7 cm. Condition: some roughness to the rim.

Antique Japanese tobacco pouch and matching pipe case, each carved with an octopus. The pipe case is made all of boxwood and holds a tobacco pipe made of bamboo with silver and mixed metal fittings. The matching tobacco pouch is carved of kiri wood in the form of a fisherman's basket with a lid made of of boxwood and carved in the form of another octopus. Both practical and whimsical.

A very fine hand made antique, genuine Silver Box from Shan State (Burma), 19th Century. Extensive detailing scrolling of many patterns and flowers on top. Size: height 4 cm. x 6 cm. diameter. Weight: 39 gr.

During the Qing dynasty, carved wood blocks were used to produce the ancestor portraits which decorated the homes of many Chinese families. The Chinese translation of the term "ancestor Portraits" can be misleading to Westerners. These were not portraits of the particular family's ancestors. They were portraits of various Chinese officials, emperor, empress, etc. for whom the family wished to show respect and or allegiance...

Two antique square Küthaya ceramic tiles with wooden frames. Each painted in underglaze cobalt blue, turquoise, green and red, outlined in black. Showing a quranic calligraphy bordered by a band of scrolling saz and flowerheads. Condition: partial cracquelure to glaze, one tile with cracks in the right angle, partially restored, the other one with tiny glaze loss in the right corner, both slightly warped. Dimension: 23.3 x 23.3 cm.

A Chinese white porcelain snuff bottle, probably Dehua, known in the West as ‘Blanc de Chine’. The moulded body, each side decorated with a central roundel of flowers surrounded with a pair of bats and a Shou character. The stopper, missing its spoon, appears to be faded purple stained soapstone. The thin body is very translucent and inside there are traces of former contents.

Approximately 5.8cm high. Perfect condition...

19th century Chinese textile rank badge (also called mandarin square) denoting the fifth civil rank symbolized by the bird on the badge - the Silver Pheasant. The bird is embroidered on separate fabric, which is sewn on top of the background - the idea behind that is that as one advances in ranks, the old bird is removed, and the bird corresponding to the next rank is sewn on the background, thus recycling the square itself...

An artifact of past Chinese Culture, this old Abacus has hand made beads of what appears to be clay, specifically stoneware. The frame is a dark hardwood, probably walnut. It is approx 5 long.

Antique, late 19th century Turkish Ottoman Islamic ceramic Kutahya vase, of baluster form rising to a flared conical neck with a frilled and lobed rim. Hand-painted under a rich, thick, clear glaze with floral vines and dots.

Kütahya was a very important ceramic center of the Ottomans, active from the 17th to the early 20th century with workshops making hand-painted ceramics for both domestic and public spheres...
