Of the over 10,000 artifacts that the late world famous Dr. Allen Heflin found, this little miniature hand-molded ceramic female figurine ranks among the rarest. It is from the unattributed Preclassic Period, C1200-900BC. It is a mere 1 1/2" long and in superb condition except for a small ding on the front headdress and small dings to both back feet. It still has significant traces of red and white pigment. Heflin found this little treasure in Cuautitlan, Mexico and is so noted on the back...

The deity Shomen Kongo standing on a demon in front of a flaming halo. In front of him a rooster and a chicken and a monkey with a gohei. Ink and colors on paper. Painted area 25 x 11 inches. Several horizontal creases due to rolling, several small missing areas, all backed and partly retouched. New mounting in Chinese style. Overall stable condition.

This is a small and thinly potted Song Dynasty (960 – 1276) small yingqing bowl. It stands on a short glazed foot rim and base rising to an everted c-shaped glazed body stopping short of the rim. Both the rim inside and outside of the bowl is unglazed exposing the porcellanous body.

The small yingqing bowl has abrasion, glaze crazing, pin holes and a small chip on the rim which can be seen in all the pictures. There is no repair or restoration...

The elephant is made of hard enameled porcelain, the artist modeled it with care, it is very likely that it was created using several molds. It carries on its back a vase which serves as a receptacle for incense. The statuette is hollow, vents to evacuate gases during cooking were discreetly made under the ears. Examining the underside we can see the shrinkage slots in the porcelain, which could have broken during firing...

This is a thinly potted tea cup depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The tea cup stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body and then with an everted mouth rim. Pair of Korean late Joseon Dynasty square form wood wedding chests on fixed stands with metal loop handles on three sides. The lids open to reveal a nice sized storage space. A white brass rectangular plate is on the front and and holds a fish lock. Brass and white brass (nickel) hardware accents decorate the edges. Late 19th century. Kane gong or bell of a very simple, cylindrical or dish shape, without any sort of decoration. Two loops for cords to hang the gong on a wooden rack. Yellow bronze (sentoku).
Inscription incised in the rim on the back/inside. It mentions the dedication of this gong at the Zenshoji temple in Meiji 40 (1907).

The metal head of the rattle – called shakujo – with some simply engraved decoration on the central shaft indicating lotus petals. The central ring has the shape of an inverted heart, from which six rings loop, three on each side.
The six rings symbolize the Six Realms of Existence where Jizō is active and the Six Perfections that lead to nirvana: generosity, morality, patience, vigor, concentration, and wisdom.

Large Chinese Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) iridescent green glazed tapering ovoid form burial jar decorated with a band of well moulded animal forms extending around the upper circumference of the jar. Measures 7" high x 8" diameter. The mouth and base have the typical indications of the Han firing process.
