Japanese lacquer tray with raised gold cranes on top a hill under a large meandering pine tree along with smaller trees and grasses on a large expanse of nashiji lacquer with gold maki-e edges. The underside is performed in a darker sprinkled lacquer and has some chipping to the bottom outer edges, although the face of the tray is good with only some light surface wear. Measures 21.25" long, 15.25" wide, and 2.25" high. Dates circa 1900.
Two lotus decorated small plates for everyday use, so-called Minyao ware. Ming style but Jiaqing period (1796-1820), both with owner's mark in the well. Exportation lacquer seal to one plate, under-glaze blue seal mark to both. Diameter "5¾/ 14,5 cm. Condition: fine.
18th century boxwood netsuke of minogame (turtle with dragon head and bushy tail, usually associated with longevity) sitting on water lily leaf. Strong early carving, great detailing of the turtle, its carapace, tail and head. Length 2.1 inches.

Exceptional AMARAPURA Crowned Buddha in Royal attire subduing Mara. Gilded wood with finely coloured glass-mirror inlays which points to the early Konbuang Period (1752-1885). The back of the throne has a special niche (opening) for relics. Condition good with several fissures due to age which adds character to this stunning collector's item. Two extremely rare and very attractive figurines from the Manteno culture: An oval shaped vessel with a human face and crossed legs of an animal in front. The face and the mouth of the vessel are framed by dashed lines and a stylized, sitting man with oversized head, 1000-1500 AD.
Wonderful archaic and very artful details. This set is extremely rare; we haven't similar style figures from Manteno in the trade for more than 20 years of dealing!

Cast bronze censer in 3 parts. The casting is perfect and the metal meticulously scraped. The combustion hearth part fits on a 6-foot base inspired by wooden furniture. The decor is simple but of high quality, the greek borders and the discreet scrolls are very finely incised with the best precision. The lid is not of the same quality, it was created to replace the old lost lid. It is an excellent ancient Chinese work from the 18th century or earlier.

On a fundame lacquer ground. The decor is in hira and taka maki-e of gold lacquer with coral and malachite inlays of green and red celestial bamboo berries in their foliage announcing the arrival of autumn. The interior of the compartments is in nashiji lacquer. Signed: Kajikawa and Shibayama. The ojime is made of horn. Height: 7.8 cm.
