This 19th century Chinese bamboo armrest is carved with calligraphy. The carver Zi Qing dedicated this to his friend Zi Zhen. It is 9 1/8 inches long and 2 inches wide. It is in very good condition.

A Chinese box of grey celadon jade and rectangular shape with rounded corners. The body is very thinly carved , resembling the Mughal manner and the cover is delicately incised with a bird in a tree. Elegant in its simplicity and precision, it typifies the 18 C. lapidary art on small jade objects. Age: 18 C. size: 2 7/10 inches x 1 7/10 inches x 3/5 inch high when closed. A very finely carved late- to Neo-Assyrian red stone cylinder seal, depicting a human headed, winged demon with Scorpios tail and a large Bull. In between them a tree and above star and crescent.

This antique Tibetan purse would have been used as a costume ornament during festival. It is decorated with silver and bronze fittings and coral and turquoise stones. Passed from generation to generation, and used extensively, this piece shows it age. Such purses would have held precious coins and the occasional flint but would not be considered as a Tibetan "strike a light" because of the lack of the striker plate.
