One panel with a pavilion in the snow, a figure on a path, tall mountains covered with snow and a persimmon tree bare of leaves and laden with fruit. The other panel shows a red pavilion in the mountains, snow on pine and red maple trees and two figures climbing a stepped path. Both tiles are framed in dark hardwood.

This is a pottery vessel originating in the Han Dynasty of ancient China (206 BCE to 220 CE). Vessels such as these were often used as wine containers. This piece his beautifully sculpted and has great colors. There is a repair two the foot of the jar. There are also small chips and abrasions throughout and possible areas of professional restoration. It measures 29 cm in heights and 32 cm in width.

This interesting pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province.
