1800s

Carved on one side is an old gnarled pine tree growing out of a rocky outcrop. The vase is of a flattened ovoid shape with a rectangular foot that is hollowed to the base. The stone has a white jade-like quality, but is probably a type of serpentine. The tree is carved in high relief with some under-carving, giving it a feeling of being carved almost in the round. The stone is flecked with silvery inclusions and very light brownish veining in a few places...

A rare, finely potted, small deep dish, well painted with "famille verte" enamels and decorated in scholar's taste with precious objects . This item was made in Jingdezhen, China circa 1700-1722 during the reign of the Kangxi emperor. A good Yuan dynasty golden celadon large twin fish dish, rounded side with flattened rim and glazed base, dish decorated with large clear twin fish motif at the center, dish covered with good golden celadon color glaze.

Early 1800s

The entire surface is enameled and painted very skillfully with designs based on Indo-Buddhist mythology. These wares were made of fine porcelain, probably in Jingdezhen, and were exported to the Kingdom of Siam (Thailand) where they were primarily used by the king and his court. The enamels are of a famille rose type, thickly applied, and in the case of this fairly large bowl, very well-painted in the Siamese taste...

A magnificent Song dynasty Chizhou large basin, rounded side with flattened rim and unglazed base, basin decorated with painted iron brown of large fish motif at the center, also there is flower and weave motif, outer wall covered with iron brown motif.
Basin is in good condition with fine star crack to the rim, no chip, no restoration. few very minor glaze fritt / nick.

A rare Dehua 'Blanc de Chine' porcelain figure group depicting two kneeling women and a crucifix - made in the 18th Century for export to Europe. An identical piece - part of the P J Donnelly bequest - is currently on display in the British Museum. There are two light hairlines visible on the front and a firing crack following the mold join on one side...

Chenghua (1465 - 87) minyao ( peoplesware ) bowl. This nice piece bears the " tian " ( heaven ) mark on its base, which is normally to find also on later imperial pieces of the Chenghua periode ! Please look the photos closely to examine the condition. ( nice blue and nice glaze and one nearly not visible short hairline ) Diameter : 5,5 inc.

A rare Song dynasty longquan celadon conical shape large bowl, rounded side with glazed base, covered with green glaze, bowl is in good condition with small shallow glaze chip at the rim and chip at the foot ring filled, size: 21.5 cm diameter.

A good Song dynasty qingbai glaze carved deep bowl, rounded side with deep center and unglazed base, bowl decorated with carved raising lotus petal motif at the exterior, very good bluish qingbai glaze color, product of Hutian in Jiangxi.

A Cizhou pottery vase with brown and beige glaze. China Yuan Dynasty 14th century. A Thermoluminescence Analysis Report ( Nr. 990830 ) from the German labor Ralf Kotalla confirms this date. H : 11,4 inc.

Antique white porcelain snuff bottle with hand painting of two Chinese dragons and a topper of green agate. One dragon/serpent swims through the waves, while another flies over its head. Dragons are a symbol of good luck to the Chinese and also used to represent the emperor of China. A heavy 18th Century double walled cup - the outer wall carved with reticulated decoration and painted with small famille rose flowers. This item was made in China during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition there is a hairline to the inner wall which does not continue to the outside (please see enlargements 6 and 7) and there is very extensive wear to the gilding; there are no chips and there has been no restoration. 7cm (2.8inches) high; 7.7cm (3inches)diameter...
