A large string of egg yolk / butterscotch Baltic amber, in a variety of rich hues. This necklace is possibly very old: there is crazing to the amber surface, and many of the beads show significant age wear.

Fine and rare roof ridge tile figure group consisting of a horse and groom made during the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368 - 1644). Condition - unusually very good - age related wear to glazes and minor chipping (please see enlargement 8 for most noticable chip) but no significant losses and no restoration...

This very well carved Chinese ivory bead and green glass necklace is a 19th century product. It is 38” long and contains 78 ivory beads and one large glass bead. Originally, carved ivory beads were part of court necklaces in Qing Dynasty. The ivory beads are ½” in diameter; the glass bead is ¾” in diameter. Aside from minor wear due to its age, it is in great condition.

Excellently potted and superbly enamelled with an extremely nice landscape scenery. Famille rose ( fencai ). Iron red Qianlong Mark, but Republican period. A most beautiful example of an Qianjiang water pot. Diameter : 10,5 cm. H : 7,4 cm. Condition : Perfect.

DESCRIPTION: A fierce pair of Chinese pottery foo dogs, early Qing, 18th/19th C., covered with a heavy green glaze and seated on pedestals. Each bares its teeth ferociously while holding a ball between their front paws as well as in their mouths. Good detail with finely ribbed backs and curled manes. Very good condition. DIMENSIONS: Each approximately 9 ½” high (24 cm) x 5” wide (12.7 cm).

A Qing dynasty blue and white snuff bottle not including stopper/lid. Surface is somewhat scrathed and there is some apparent staining. Please see images. Height 2 and half inches.

Mask of the "Nuo" esoteric theater representing the character of Heshang, the Buddhist monk, with very expressive features. The mask was carved on wood, then paper was affixed all over its surface, on which polychrome pigments were painted. China, early 19th century, probably earlier. Height: 9 13/16" (25 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Paper partly flaked, and consequently the colors, otherwise very good condition.

Small tripod miniature incense burner of simple form in cast bronze. The two handles are unusually very thin. Below we can see the 6 characters of the reign of Xuande of the Ming Dynasty. The bronze is old, the beautiful patina attests to it. However, it is difficult to date it exactly. Usually the bronzes bearing the mark of Xuande are from the 17th century. A wooden base and lid were added later, probably in the 19th century...

Description:
A finely potted Zadou was in nice form.
Well glazed in golden tint, the ware obtained the time-enduring characteristics by immensely spread crackles, the iridescent effect reflected inside the body, the spiral-like scars left at the bottom (they were caused by the potter when they moved the vessel from the mill by a wire.) and the old-looking surface.
It was kept in perfect condition except some time-caused frets on the mouth rim...

Fine Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Buddhist Pottery Zodiac Jar

This interesting pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province. It is made from a relatively high-fired grey pottery.

The jar has a flat base with marks showing it was removed from the potter's wheel by a piece of string or wire...

Chinese silver etched design Bell and Agate round Bead Pendant, Ca. 1920,, 3" high overall, Bell(1 1/2" high, 1 1/8" wide), Agate(1 1/2" diameter, very nice Chinese etched design on Silver Bell. The condition is good.

This is a set of twelve late Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) plates. Each plate is 1” high and 7 1/2” in diameter. A large pink peony appears in the center of each plate; chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers fill the tops of the plates. There are Guang Xu (1875~1908) marks and three separate floral (peony) designs on the back. The workmanship is elegant. The gold edging on the rims has slightly rubbed off...

Antique Chinese figure of the goddess Quanyin seated with a child on her lap. Made of bronze and lacquered in red then black lacquer, this statue was once completely covered in gold. The goddess of compassion sits with one hand delicately balanced on her knee. The other hand holds the hand of the tiny girl-child in her lap. Both goddess and child are sculpted with beautiful expressions and naturalistic details. Qing Dynasty. Size: 24" high x 17" wide x 14" deep.

A Jiaqing mark and period circular dish, covered in a rich and bubbly cobalt blue glaze. Surface wear suggest that this dish had once been gilt-decorated with a dragon among clouds. The roughly written mark is typical for non-official wares of this period.

Finely carved and once elaborately painted, this antique figure was probably from a small shrine. Clearly used and handled over the years, piece still has some areas of original paint. Some residual of an inked signature on bottom. carving may be of a monk or other religious figure. Stands about 2 inches high.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade rectangular lock on a carved wood stand with incised decoration on both sides. One side has four Chinese characters which read ¡°prosperity for entire family¡±; the other side is a peony design in the center with a garden scene around it. The jade is 3 ½ inches wide, 2 ¾ inches high (5 inches tall with stand) and ¼ inches thick. There is a chip on the corner of the stand. It is in excellent condition.

A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. Intricate, flowing spiral decoration covers the dragon's body and the disc. The piece measures 3-3/4" end to end and is, as best I can tell, made entirely without the use of modern cutting tools. This Chinese doll was made with a wire body covered with fabric padding and then silk clothing. His heads, lower arms and feet are made from some kind of composition material and then painted. Because of his wire construction, his arms, legs, and body etc can be carefully repositioned. The feet are wired together to provide a more stable base...it is a theory which frankly does not always work well.

This is a large, substantial ancient Chinese nephrite object which appears to be composed of two opposing "core" elements from a cong or similar tube object. Each end tapers toward the middle where a "shoulder" ridge is present. The piece measures just under 7" in length and is 1-3/4" at the widest diameter. The piece has been seen and authenticated and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. The stone itself is celadon colored nephrite with substantial dark inclusions. The surface show...
