This is a large & beautiful pair of Japanese cloisonné enamel vases decorated with fine silver wires of wisteria, Hydrangea & red flowers on black background. Both vases are mounted with brass rims & bases...

Tea bowl of irregular shape. Deep dark brown clay covered in a greenish-gray glaze that leaves the bottom part of the bowl uncovered. The inside in the same tone with a brown patch. The rim covered with a brownish-green glaze. One looped line decoration in brownish green on the outside. A small patch at the inside of the bowl left uncovered...

Tsuba with openwork design of a falcon resting on the branch of an old pine tree. Iron, with remnants of gilding on the falcon eye and on the tree leaves. The tsuba is unsigned. Japan, early Edo period. Height: 3 3/8" (8,7 cm. Oxidation, otherwise very good condition.

Antique Japanese porcelain kogo (incense box). Round in form and flat on top. Glazed with a lovely crackled white ground and two blue butterflies, one on the lid and one on the side where the two pieces join. Signed "Taisuiken" on the inside of the lid. With original tomobako.

This is a tsutsugaki yuzen dye silk children's kimono from the Edo period.(1800-1867) The design of beautiful cherry blossom trees and herds of horses is gorgeous, elegant and lively. 18th to 19th century Japanese sword set of fuchi (bordering piece between the sword guard and the handle) and kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with relief decoration of multiple monkeys pulling a rope tied to a huge branch with fruit, all on finely punched ground texture called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar. Excellent quality multimetal work, gilding, overall in excellent condition...

Small antique Japanese lacquer zushi (personal shrine) with tiny carved wooden bodhisattva inside. The standing figure inside is painted black and gold. The exterior of the zushi is lacquered black and the inside is painted a deep green with delicate gold details. Tiny copper hardware.

19th Century Japanese Lacquered Wood Buddha Zushi Travel Shrine Box

It is 1.2 inches (3 cm) tall by 2.75 inches (7 cm) wide. It is 54.9 gram.

It has rubbing and peeling of paint and lacquer, wrinkle lacquer, chips to the lacquer at the rim, a small chip at the rim, stains, traces of glue at the bottom of the box, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Old rodan and gotoku for Japanese tea room, heavy item made with beautiful craftmanship from the Meiji period (1868-1912). The rodan is placed in the cut out hole of the tea room. Inside the rodan, the gotoku stand is placed (shown upside down in our photos) in ash for kama or kettle.

The dimensions of copper rodan: 16"w x 16"w at the top (the rim is 2.5" wide) and 10" in heigth. The bottom is 11 1/2" x 11 1/2". Old iron stand, gotoku is , 9 3/4" across and 6 inches tall.

This is an Early 19th Century Stag Antler Netsuke depicting a curious Monkey sitting on top of a large barrel. He appears to be curiously looking out. The openings on the barrel are used naturally as himotoshi. Netsuke measures 0.84 inches (2.2cm) wide; 1.91 inches (4.8cm) long, and 2.24 inches (5.6cm) tall. It is in excellent condition as shown in the posted photos.

Beautiful Japanese antique Buddhist temple bell made of bronze or brass with repousse design of scrolling vines and chrysanthemums, long double-linked chain of hand foraged copper, both chain and bell all with lovely green patina, Meiji Period. Japanese half section Mizuya or kitchen buffet tansu. Constructed of Hinoki (cypress) and Sugi (cedar) wood. The piece opens by two large front sliding panels to the large interior with 2 recessed shelves. The sides of the chest have horizontal bracing slats for reinforcement.

This carved antler netsuke of a young boy holding a puppy is a late 19th century product. It is 2" high, 1 1/8" wide and a little less than 1" thick. The contrast of the smiling boy and the less than happy puppy provides a great over all impression for the piece. It is not signed. It is in great condition.

This is a fine Japanese vase from the Meiji era with impeccable workmanship. The silver wire work and thick enamel are flawless much like a Namikawa Yasayuki piece. It is also has the weight of a Namikawa piece, but could have been created by Honda or Shibata. The high quality of this vase is more apparent when in hand. It is adorned with 30 butterflies. The vase stands 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

A fine pottery koro in typical milky white glaze supported by three figures in russet red by Okuda Mokuhaku dating from the mid 19th century. It is 13 cm (5 inches) diameter, 11.2 cm (4-1/4 inches) tall. There is a chip in the rim, otherwise is in excellent condition. It is stamped on the base AKahadayama followed by a circular seal reading Mokuhaku. t comes in a simple wooden box.

Pair of fine satzuma earthenware vases. The cream colored clay is covered with finely crackled glaze. A golden decoration representing pagodas in a mountainous landscape is placed on a matte black background. Some details are sprinkled to imitate morning mists. These are original vases inspired by Komai style vases in gold damask steel. Probably made in Kyoto during the Meiji or Taisho period. Good condition. Height: 125mm.

An antique pair of Japanese Fusuma doors made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Natural Urushi lacquer frame and hand painted design of Bamboo trees on one side and Pine trees with Bamboo on the opposite side. 18th century Japanese sword iron tsuba with raised and inlaid decoration of a seated tiger scratching its ear by a thick stem of bamboo with leaves. Delightful design, good work, wonderful depiction of the creature, gilded and silvered leaves, very pleasant feel of age. Height 2 15/16 inches.

Mid Edo period Hagi Chawan in the stylish shape of modest slight distortion. It is roughly coated in slightly glossy white slip and bears beside a wari-kodai (splitted foot) a fantastic 'landscape' on the inside.

Kozuka in sentoku inlaid with silver, gold plated strip (not gilded) details inlaid in solid gold. One of a collection of three fantastic and rare, large Edo Period Iki masks, de-accessioned from the Musée Archéologique in Strasbourg, France during the mid-20th Century.
