Thick cotton, Katazome stencil dye, aizome Japanese indigo dye with beni flowers. 70 1/2" x 13". The width changes to 12 1/2 after 39 1/2" where the fabric is torn. One 1/2" round stain (at 20 inches from torn end). Weakened at the seam (visible in some area from reverse side).

Size : 10,5cm wide, 4,3cm high. Conditions: Glaze degradations because found from under water, very small chipped at the rim, no crack, free from any repair.

A Fine Inlaid White Slip Punchong Shallow Bowl: Korea, early Joseon dynasty, 15th -16th century Ashallowed stoneware bowl tapering to a raised ring foot, decorated with brushed white slip inlaid with a centural medallion containing a flowerhead surrounded by bands of “rope-curtain” design and multiful ring patern, the exterior decotated with also mutiful white slip ring inlays, beneath a pale celadon glaze. It’s in fine condition except 2 hair line cracks...

Japanese carved netsuke of a standing man; inlaid horn to hair and shirt buttons; finely stained; very well modelled; natural material; a/f to side

The Hiramaki-e technique, which dates from the latter part of the Heian Period (794-1185), was preceded by Togidashi maki-e, a technique in which not only the design, but the whole surface is covered with clear lacquer after the sprinkling of metal powder. The lacquer is then polished down to reveal the design.

The Japanese letter box is decorated in low relief of mountainous terrain and a stylized linear mist or cloud line...

A fine portrait-image of Tsongkapa (1357–1419), the founder of the Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. Brownish bronze alloy with a high content of copper. Tibet, 17th century. H 14 cm. Fully sealed with original closing. Condition: Some rubbing to gold, and sword on the right shoulder missing.

Japanese Genroku Period Imari Tokkuri sake bottle in 4-sided rectangular form. From the early 1700's. Blue on white porcelain base with red and gold overglaze enamels in a floral design. 10 1/2" tall by 4 1/4" by 4 1/4".

Kashan vessel in bright turquoise glaze over impressed designs, handle on one side. Measures 6 1/2" high x 6" across, and 2 1/2" diameter at top. Large size, with pierced handle and heavy turquoise crackled glaze. Impressed designs around the shoulder. Dates to 12th century, the Seljuk Empire, from region in present day Iran. Condition, visible hairline below shoulder area, though it is stable...

Ancient Luristan bronze short sword with green patina.

Luristan bronze comes from the province of Lorestan, a region of nowadays western Iran in the Zagros mountains.
With its rich and long history, Luristan culture is well-known for its fascinating bronze artifacts from the Early Iron Age.

DESCRIPTION: A good Chinese scholar’s brushpot, carved in deep relief with a continuous mountain landscape scene framed by gnarled pine trees and depicting two groups of scholars, some examining a scroll and others in a boat. The base and rim are encased in hardwood and the pot is engraved with a two line inscription. Very good condition, latter Qing Dynasty, 19th to early 20th C. DIMENSIONS: 6 ½” high (16.5 cm) x 6” diameter (15.2 cm).

Wonderful birdhead-shaped stamp seal in a glossy green hardstone (rare!), Syro-Levantine part of Mesopotamia, probably 5th. mill. BC.

A pre-historic / Neolithic seal carved with a fine grit pattern in the base, the form of the seal itself as a stylized birds head.
