A Very Fine/Rare Korean 6 Faceted Iron Brown Painted/Chrysanthemum/ Bamboo Bottle-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The six high relief ribbed body set to a raised ring foot with short neck with cup mouth lip, Decorated in iron brown with a large chrysanthemum and bamboo on the body from Beneath blue tinged clear white glaze overall. It’s in very good condition, it measures 23.5cm h. x 14.2cm d.

A nicely carved jade pendant in the shape of a bamboo surrounded by leaves in two colors. Bamboo is a Chinese symbol for longevity because of its durability, strength, flexibility and resilience. It survives in the harshest conditions. Size: H. 6 cm. W. 4.2 cm. Condition: No repairs.

Chinese Huanghuali altar table, its front and side aprons carved with dragons and fireballs. The side panels between the table's legs are carved with reticulated motifs of scrolls and dragons. The table's surface woodgrain shows many distinct "ghost eyes" associated with Huanghuali wood.

Antique Chinese scroll of a rooster with peonies. The rooster is painted naturalistically with white feathers and a grey/blue face with pink peonies in the background. There is a wax seal on a tag, threaded through the scroll. Seal says "Shen Shi " (named Nanpin). Attributed to Shen Quan (Shen Nanpin). It measures overall 19.75" wide by 76" tall, 16" by 52.5".

An antique Bizen ware figure of Daikoku, one of the seven fortune gods in Japan. Daikoku is holding a mallet (uchide kozuchi) which Daikoku often holds. On the other hand, he is holding a two legged radish. The word radish in Japanese, daikon, is somewhat synonymous to Daikoku and a legend exist of how the two legged radish became associated with Daikoku. Age: Meiji Period. An Edo period Oribe sake bottle of simple but full proportions and with classically Japanese Zen decoration - austerely yet sensitively placed grass and blooms decoration in iron oxide on the softly crackled opaque off-white glaze ever so slightly scorched in the kiln on two sides where the body is almost slightly exposed and oxidized to a buff tone at those points. The cut foot also glazed save for a crescent reserve around the center where the warm gray body is exposed...

Chinese unglazed pottery jar with impressed, cross-hatch decoration, four lug handles and flat base. 5 1/4” high x 6 3/4” diameter. Warring States period (475-221 B.C.) or possibly earlier. Very good overall condition with typical wear and soiling. From the private collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.

Pair of Rare Chinese Sui / Early Tang Dynasty Pottery Ladies

These fine and very rare pottery ladies were made during either the Sui Dynasty (AD 581 - 518) or the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). They are made from a fine-grained grey pottery and are particularly well-detailed; note the detail of the faces, the hairstyle, the folds of the clothing with the very long sleeves. Traces of the original "cold painted" surface pigment remain.
