Beautiful Japanese antique fan painting of irises, painted in ink and mineral colors on paper that was once silver leaf but has worn and oxidized a beautiful sepia color, wet on wet painting technique, Rimpa School, !9 century- Late Edo/Meiji Period. Size: 21" long x 7" wide.

This is a rare late 18th century porcelain model of an elephant from the Arita Studio. 8" x 11.5", it is nicely decorated with blue medallions and a pale blue glaze.

A Very Rare and Fine Korean Incised Celadon Deep Bowl-12th C.: Korea, Koryo period, 12th Century This is a high quality of and rare incised celadon deep bowl. There are three incised large chrysanthemum sprays between the well line and narrow lines below the lip, is covered overall evenly toned greenish blue celadon glaze, and spur marks on base. It has a short hairline crack on the mouth rim, otherwise very good condition. It measures 7” d. x 3 1/4” h.

Semi antique Timor sarong made from all natural dyes and handspun cotton circa 1950/1960. Both top and bottom have “buna” weft embroidered panels. There is 7cm x 4cm piece missing on one edge, noted in enlargements. L: 110cm/43.2in and H: 103cm/40.5in.

Statue of Kubera, the God of Wealth and Prosperity, wearing diadem and formal attire, sitting on a dais. The god holds the Buddhist umbrella in his right hand, while he holds the mongoose that spits the jewels in his left hand. The statue is made of gilt copper, with a nice green and reddish patina in the recesses. Tibet, 18th century. Height: 4 7/8" (12,3 cm). Very good condition.

Ancient palstave axe, originating from Europe. The axe dates back to 1400-1200 B.C., making it an ancient relic of historical value. It is made of cast and polished bronze and has a typical form. Kakemono (kakejiku), black ink (sumi-e) scroll painting on paper of a bamboo whose top is lost in the clouds evanescently. The power of the line, as traced by a single brushstroke, gives a strength synonymous with permanence in the face of the vagaries of time. A fine and rare 19th century Japanese cloisonne bi-fold table screen in the Kyoto school of Namikawa, depicting a ho bird and dragon. The finely coiled wiring is gilded, as are the back panels of the screen. Each cloisonne panel is wood framed, joined with hinges of silver. Fully opened, the screen measures 8" high and 9" wide.

Condition: Quite fine, with only wear commensurate with age.
