Fine & Rare Large Chinese Yuan Dynasty Burnished Black Pottery Horse
This impressive and attractive pottery model of a horse was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Such figures from the Yuan Dynasty are very distinctive and are particularly rare and desirable. The surface of these figures is typically fired to grey, or almost black, and sometimes, as in this case, burnished to a smooth finish.
The horse is laden with a pack on its back, on top of which is tied a tiger skin...

Here is another stunning chawan, a Nogime (hare's fur) Tenmoku tea bowl from the Jian Kilns - made in the Southern Song era (Chinese: 南宋; 1127–1279). Such tea bowls were one of the first tea bowls in Japan, which came together with the first tea from China.

This is the type of early Mei-Ping flask which was used in the 1,300’s to 1,400’s by the Chinese to transport mercury for trade to be use in gold mining operations. They measure 6.5 to 7.5 inches high and were found in the port of Tuban, Indonesia on an unknown shipwreck. This particular piece has an un-repaired crack in the body but is intact.

By flat mouth rim. the censer was stand with floral stem foot.
In characteristic lake-green tint, the glaze was suffused with whitish incursions when frets were observed on the ridges of the floral patterns.
Characteristic and darken firing effects were yielded on the body clay inside the stem foot.

This attractive small covered jar was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). It is coated inside and out in a finely-crackled pale green Qingbai glaze. The cover has a carved pattern to give it the appearance of a tiled roof; this jar represents a granary. There are incised decorative bands that surround the body. The edge of the foot is rather poorly trimmed.

An ancient-medieval bronze bowl of the high tin content 'white bronze' type with engravings Gaznavids, dating to c. 10th-11th. century AD.
A massive bowl, likely a food bowl for really large parties. The bowl almost completely covered with fine azurite patina on the exterior and when cleaned would reveal the fine design of incised circles-dots (bulls-eye), likely hexacons as well.

This is a superbly well carved jade piece dating, I believe, most probably to the Song dynasty, circa 1100AD, although possibly a tad later. The jade is a grayish-green nephrite and is truly the work of a highly accomplished artist. It measures some 3" in length and is 2" in height (7.5cm X 5cm). 1/4" in depth (1mm). A real beauty! A Longquan Li-type censer was in golden-greenish glaze.
Well mold in good profile, the censer was supported by three slender feet.
It was preserved nicely except one portion of glazing imperfection was found on the side.
Foggy and introspective sheen was yielded on the surface due to long time of age.
