South China/North Vietnam Yao Shaman Ka Dong Deity Ritual Mask. This fine old mask would have been used in the same family for several generations to perform rituals such as those for a newborn baby and maturation. The wood for this important mask would have been taken from dep in the forest where spirits were believed to live. 14.5 inches, 37 cm.

Fine Nepalese Mask of a Rare Type with Pigments. 10.5 inches, 26.75 cm. From the collection of Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. This porcelain tea pot was produced in France by Bawo & Dotter Elite Works Limoges in the late 19th century. The pot measures 7 1/2 inches from the handle to the spout and is 4 1/2 inches high. It is made of fine, white hard paste porcelain. It is decorated with factory transfer decoration that is accented with gold. The designs are intricate and resemble tapestry. this antique pair of lotus embroidered lotus shoes are most likely from northern china. the vamp is a quilted cotton fabric. Each shoe is embroidered with the same floral design on both sides. The shoes were used and show some soiling on the vamp and the soles are slightly worn and dirty.

A small teapot and lid, Kangxi period, c 1700. Painted - clobbered - probably in Holland for the European market, in iron red, green, pink, black and gilt over the original under-glaze blue decoration. The base with a pseudo-Chinese seal mark in iron red. Height, including lid "4 1/2/ 11 cm. Condition: repair to the lid (cf. photos), otherwise fine.

Chinese Green Porcelain Pen or Brush Holder. The green glaze has an "oil on water" effect and gives an excellent impression. The shape of a table makes it rare and interesting. Condition: Very good condition. Small frittering on one corner and one on the bottom square. Otherwise no restoration or hairlines. Measurement: 6.4 cm = 2.5 in X 4.3 cm = 1.7 in X 4.6 cm = 1.8 in

Japanese narrow hanging scroll done in literati style with a mountainous retreat in autumn season, 3 red seals and signed by the artist, Senda Hanko. Meiji Period. Size: Length 55" Width: 10.1" with ends, 17.3". Good condition. Recent artist show at Aichi Prefectural Museum in a special exhibition.

Antique Japanese isho tansu (clothing chest), 4 drawers, wonderful fan shaped lock plates with the shallower top drawer having a smaller version of the fan lock, all iron hardware, keyaki (elm) wood on drawer fronts with nice translucent lacquer finish and dramatic grain, Meiji Period. Size: 34 1/4" high x 34 1/4" wide x 19" deep.

Antique Chinese tall wardrobe cabinet, made all of jumu (elm) wood with very beautiful grain, middle bar has been attached to door so that the cabinet opens with clear access to interior, inside has one shelf with two small drawers of jumu wood finished on the front to match the exterior of cabinet, bottom has one large drop in panel that locks with key, 19th century. Size: 78 1/2" high x 42 3/4" wide x 21" deep.

Outstanding and rare Meiji Period C. 1880 buddhist temple water bowl. Fabulous bronze work with mythical dragon handles and elephant tripod feet legs. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Wehsener Dresden in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The porcelain has an egg shell, translucent quality. The set is hand decorated with large sprays of colorful flowers. Little sprigs of flowers dot the surface of the porcelain.
