A pair of oval dishes with godrooned borders, soft paste / pâte tendre, creamy white with decoration of flowers in underglaze blue. Made c 1780 in Tournai, then France and now Belgium. Ronda was the most popular Tournai pattern, produced all through the 19th century till 1891 when the manufactory closed down. Width "10 ½ / 26.5 cm. Condition: firing crack and two little nicks to underside of rim of one dish (cf. pics).

Rare/Fine Royal Princess ’s Embroidered Flower Shoes: Korea, late Joseon dynasty This pair is an one of a kind of silk embroidered colorful multi-flower heads (so called (꽃신) and sprays design on the surfaces that is a very unusual and extremely rare shoes from the Joseon dynasty, the pair of shoes were considered the use for a Royal family’s princess at the Royal Palace. Federal Mahogany swell front chest of drawers. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Maryland, probably Baltimore, 1790 to 1810. This chest is similar in ways to an example in "Furniture in Maryland, 1740-1940", Weidman, 1984, item #77, page 123. On both, the top conforms to the bow front case, projecting a bit beyond the case. And both have nicely formed French feet, inlaid banding on the drawers and above the skirt, and inlaid chevrons centering the escutcheons...

A Very Rare/Fine Korean Silver Inlaid with Orchids Iron Box-18th C.: Korea, Joeson dynasty, 18th century. Japanese 2 section kimono tansu. Made with Kiri (paulownia) wood, all natural finish. The upper section holds 8 drawers, which is considered an auspicious number. The bottom section contains 2 drawers with warabite pulls mounted on pierced metal plates. The piece also contains a secret hidden compartment beneath the bottom drawer.

An antique Japanese Ikebana bamboo basket in a cylindrical form mimicking a Gourd. It was woven in a vertical stitch pattern juxtapose a visually lesser diagonal weave. The artist used the thin and medium bamboo strips to contrast and undulate texture and movement within the basket. The base forms a hexagonal circle with a six point star pattern at the bottom.
