Chinese rose medallion plate in good condition

These 8 porcelain plates were produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. They measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. They have a flat rim and are slightly indented in the middle. The plates are made of fine quality porcelain and are quite substantial in weight. The plates feature portraits of different animals in wonderful detail. The painting is so fine that you can see every whisker and strand of fur. The artist captured the true character as naturally as if they were photographed...

Excellent Chinese carved snuff bottle in the shape of a gourd; shou symbols to the front; good condition

This is a fine Famille Rose Figural Molded Porcelain Snuff Bottle, of flattened ovoid form, with a waisted neck, a flat gilded lip, and an oval concave foot. The body of the bottle crisply molded with bright colors a scene of the Nine Buddhist Lions at play amid clouds. The neck decorated with a leiwen border. There is a Qianlong Period (1,711 - 1,799) seal script Mark in iron red letters to the base. It comes with a red coral stopper...

A Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) Japanese Kannon Biraki Tansu (Wedding Kimono Chest) made of beautiful aged Kiri (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) wood. The top section has two hinged doors with a special lock from the inside that secures the inside of the door.

A very large example of an antique Japanese Baku corbel used in a temple or shrine. The Baku is a mythical spiritual creature which resides in the Buddhist realm. Its purpose is to devour evil spirits as well as one's nightmares. Carved from one solid block of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood, this architectural sculpture has stood the test of time.

Antique 18th-19th century ottoman Islamic brass Qibla indicator and sundial, of round form, and affix with suspension ring. The face engraved with toponyms in Arabic and zodiac symbols. The sundial component is mounted with the folded triangle - form gnomen and a swiveling pin.

This compass and sundial was used by the Muslim faithful to locate qibla, or sacred direction towards the Ka'aba in Mecca for sholat (prayers)...
