Pair of parakeets resting on a rock. White hard porcelain, yellow enameled spouts and legs, black enamel details. The body of the birds is covered with a transparent glaze, however the unglazed rock which is covered with a layer of brown lacquer. I don't know of any other other same parakeet listed so it is difficult to date them with certainty.Probably Chinese work from the Qing period. Good condition, lacquer worn in places...

Lovely American tiger oak server with bevelled mirrored back, two drawers over one long drawer over two doors with a small shelf between them. It has Queen Anne legs and the moulding on top of the mirror is curved, ending with small rosettes. Thie piece measures 45" wide x 56" tall x 22 1/2" deep.

Tall and slender, almost cylindrical chaire. Brown fine stoneware with spiraling engraving on top, covered with olive green translucent glaze with fine crackle, and with a white and blue triangular patch dripping down. Seto region, Japan, 18th century.

This is a fabulous Victorian sterling ladies’ card case for that special collector, marked "sterling and "W&H" for the well-known New York silversmiths Wood & Hughes. The shaped case, with an attachment for a chain, has beautiful foliate engraving surrounding a central cartouche with the name "Hettie" and "1876" in the center; a Victorian heart is engraved on the reverse. Condition: very good with minor nicks; hinged lid snaps closed evenly. Measurement: 3.50 in long. x 2.50 in. wide

This is Furosiki made in the Izumo district for Edo period. This is dyed in Katazome and Hikizome. This is dyed in natural indigo plant and Yamamomo. This has a stain such as the image in some points. And this has some small holes. This shows old form of Izumo Furosiki. As for this, cotton is spun by hand and is thick. Size 99cm x 95cm (38.9 "x 37.4")

A superb and near lifesize Thai head of Buddha, Ayutthaya, Thailand. c. 15th century

The head of longish oval shape, with clearly delineated eyes and lids lowered in meditation, a smiling mouth and tiny curls covering head and ushnisha.

Sandstone was a highly coveted material during the early part of the Ayutthaya period, and the use of curved lines and petite bumps for hair reflect the influence of Indian Gupta stylization.

Chinese 4 panel lacquer 'landscape screen. Qing Dynasty, painted with ink on a gold leaf ground with huts and pavilions, all within a border of dragon panels on a cash ground. Separated and hung from rings. Overall size 72x48 inches

The vessel features a reel-shaped body with stepped foot and a flange. The doomed top with the head of Medusa at center. Medusa is rendered with a round face and curls ending in snake heads.
The pyxis is made in one piece and open at the bottom. The piece was not intended for concrete use and served as richly decorated burial object.
The surface shows remains of the original white engobe with gilded areas.
