A very unusual Bohemian zwischengoldglass liquor glass, the bottom featuring an inset gilt and enameled design of a ladybug. The panel cutting along the beaker’s sides causes the design to be visually repeated. Small beakers such as these are normally decorated with a flower. This is the only example we’ve seen with an insect. The ladybug traditionally symbolizes good luck, so perhaps that's why it appears here.

This is an old traditional style top shirt which would have been worn by a young girl of the Yi Chinese ethnic minority from Yunnan Province. the fabric is made from home grown cotton, hand spun, and hand woven. The collar surround and cuffs are trimmed with an intricate batik pattern and the tiniest embroidery stitched I have ever seen. The shirt has its original buttons. Good size for framing 14 inches across the chest.

A quite large perfect potted jarlet, glazed with an nice bluegreen "Guan" glaze. The piece is very decorative because of the color of the Celadon glaze and the striking and unusual deep crackles in the glaze ( please look at the enlargements ) Song - Yuan Dynasty, Longquan ware. Diameter : 8,3 cm. H : 6,9 cm. Condition : Perfect

A very rare scroll weight resp. paper weight made from glass and painted with a very pleasing romantic landscape . This painting is done in a typical Qianlong manner on a opaque white glaze and is covered with a thick layer of transparent glaze. Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ) On the back side of the piece is something like a very small signature which can be seen on the last enlargement. L : 17,5 cm. B : 3,3 cm. H : 1,2 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Fine Famille Rose Teapot Cover and a Stand. With petal moulding and applied with Lotus stems, leaves and flowers. Decorated in bright enamels with flowering peony. Chinese Yongzheng C1730/40. Height of Teapot 4 3/8" (11.2cm). Diameter of stand 5 1/4" (13.3cm). Condition: excellent, no frits, chips, cracks or restoration. Collection label attached with sealing wax.

Chinese Blue and White Ginger Jar and wood cover. The jar decorated with panels of precious objects on a prunus and cracked ice ground. Kangxi L17thC Height 8" (20.3cm) Condition: excellent, no damage, some wear to glaze.

Chinese Blue and White Dish decorated in underglaze blue with a Dutch river scene. A copy of the Japanese Arita C1700 dishes decorated with a version of the design by the Dutch Delft decorator Frederik Van Frytom. The English Bow factory also copied this design in the mid 18thC. Qianlong C1740/50. Diameter 4 3/4" (12.1cm) Perfect condition.

Well painted Famille Rose jar and cover. Decorated with a scene of Immortals and attendants. Chinese 19thC. Height 7 3/8" (18.7cm). Condition: excellent. The lid has a prefiring bruise under the glaze in the rim 1.3cm.

Japanese bronze vase with flaring rim. The slender body with a coiled Dragon in relief. 19thC. Height 8 5/8" (21.9cm). Condition: very good.

A Song or earlier pottery or proto-porcelain ewer, the tall neck with concentric raised bands running around,the c-shaped strap handle with twin raised beads to the outside, a short spout to the other shoulder. The ewer covered in a crackled cream glaze over a grey body. Height: 25 cm Width / Diameter: 12.5 cm

Japanese lacquer box form the Meiji/Taisho period circa 19th century. Decorated with gold flowering clematis vines on dark brown lacquer interior with gold rim inset and shallow tray. Accented with gilt fittings with paulownia decoration and ring handles. Dimensions: 5 1/2'' X 6 1/2'' X 5"

A rare ovoid vase on high flaring foot painted in shades of underglaze blue and made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition: there is "fritting" (production glaze loss) to the base (please view enlargements) and there are very minor glaze imperfections; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration. 14.5cm (5.7inches) high.
