A rare ovoid vase on high flaring foot painted in shades of underglaze blue and made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722).
Condition: there is "fritting" (production glaze loss) to the base (please view enlargements) and there are very minor glaze imperfections; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration.

A large Kansai area issho tansu made from keyaki and sugi woods. Copper handles are used on the sliding door panels and a special cabinet with a lock is set on the bottom area of the chest. Tansu such as these were often placed in the private quarters of the home and clothes, family documents, and important objects were placed inside. on the legs with flower scroll, the body of the censer secured to the bracket support-
plinth by an iron joint...
Chinese Canton Enamel Small Plate decorated with a stylised Lotus scroll. The reverse with fruit and flowers. Gilt rim and foot. 18thC. Dia. 7 1/4" (18.5cm). Condition: usual stress lines, small chip 0.5cm to rim, slight wear to gilding.
Pair of Rare Famille Rose plates attractively decorated with Twin Boys. C1735/45. Dia.8 3/4" (22.3cm). Condition: first plate with some flaking to enamels and 0.35cm shallow flake to underside of rim. Second plate with 3.2 cm hairline crack to rim and 0.5cm bruise to underside of rim.
An Indonesian Mask carved in the form of a monkey. The mask is carved into two separate section, one is the top area of the head and the bottom is the jaw area. The mask is attached with a head covering made from strips of leather. The islands of Java and Bali are the two key regions that have the art of mask dancing often depicting religious stories. The body of the bowl is covered with a thick greenish-creamy-grey glaze whose surface appears like old polished marble. The crackles in the glaze are very attractive. Most probably Ming Dynasty, sixteenth century or earlier.

Beautiful Japanese antique highly carved butsudan panel, carved with scene of two dragons in swirling clouds and crashing waves, black and gilt lacquer with details in red, the eyes of the dragons are made of reverse painted glass, framed in black lacquer frame with copper hardware. This piece was once a ranma or transom over the interior doors of a large Buddhist butsudan shrine.
Meiji Period.
Size: 9" high x 44" long. Carving is up to 3" deep.

Blanc De Chine standing figure. Kangxi L17thC. Height 9.0" (22.8cm). Condition: tip of hair on figure's right side replaced (0.25cm), otherwise excellent. Usual firing faults.
This figure is often referred to as Adam.
